Hulu’s ‘Letterkenny’ Spinoff ‘Shoresy’ Renewed for Season 5

As a die-hard fan of Canadian comedy and hockey, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the news that Shoresy has been renewed for a fifth season! Having followed the character’s journey since its inception, it’s fascinating to see how Jared Keeso has continued to evolve Shoresy’s storyline, taking us from the competitive hockey field to exploring life after retirement.

The fourth season’s focus on the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs and their summertime distractions in northern Ontario is a refreshing change of pace that keeps the series feeling fresh and engaging. With an impressive cast including Taysa Teles, Blair Lamora, Keilani Rose, Jonathan Ismael Diaby, Terry Ryan, Doug Gilmour, Marty McSorley, and Sean Avery, I’m excited to see how their characters develop in the upcoming season.

As a fan who has watched every episode multiple times, I can’t help but feel like I’ve grown up with these characters. I eagerly await the return of Shoresy, knowing that each new season will bring more laughs and heartwarming moments. And let’s not forget the iconic dialogue and Keeso’s impeccable delivery – it never fails to make me chuckle!

One thing that stands out about Shoresy is the attention to detail in its production, from the authentic hockey scenes to the charmingly quirky small-town setting. As a fan who appreciates quality comedy and Canadian storytelling, I can confidently say that Shoresy is a must-watch for anyone looking for a unique blend of humor and heart.

To top it all off, I’d like to share a little joke in honor of the upcoming season: Why did the hockey player bring a map to the rink? Because he heard there were a lot of penalties for getting lost in the offensive zone! Keep bringing on the laughs, Shoresy – I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next!

Hulu’s Letterkenny spinoff comedy Shoresy has been renewed for a fifth season.

The go-ahead from streaming platform Crave is given prior to the start of the fourth hockey-centric series’ sixth season, which airs on Hulu on January 26th. Production for the fifth season by Canadian independent producer New Metric Media, created by Jared Keeso, will begin in the spring of 2025.

The upcoming fourth season will focus on Shoresy, a hardened character portrayed by Keeso, as he navigates life beyond hockey. Meanwhile, the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, a struggling team in a fictitious hockey league, deal with the diversions of summer in northern Ontario.

In the fourth season, we’ll delve into Shoresy’s journey post-hockey (played by Keeso), while the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, a struggling team in a fictitious league, grapple with the challenges of summer in northern Ontario.

From hereon, I chose to bid adieu to my competitive hockey journey as Shoresy, having weathered a series of injuries, among them twin head concussions. With my skates now retired, fresh narratives unfolded for Keeso’s character in the subsequent seasons.

In the returning fifth season, along with Keeso, stars Taysa Teles, Blair Lamora, Keilani Rose, Jonathan Ismael Diaby, and Terry Ryan (a veteran both on the ice as an NHL player and off-ice in acting) will be part of the cast. The hockey-focused show is also set to introduce former professional hockey players Doug Gilmour, Marty McSorley, and Sean Avery in its forthcoming fourth season.

On the show Shoresy , the producer credits are divided between Play Fun Games and Bell Media. Notably, Toronto-based New Metric Media is also behind the original comedies on Hulu and Crave like Letterkenny, as well as the comedy series on The CW and CTV called Children Ruin Everything, and the comedy on Crave titled Bria Mack Gets A Life.

As a gamer, I’ve got some exciting news to share! I, myself, pen the scripts for my beloved show, Shoresy. Along with Mark Montefiore and Kara Haflidson, I’m also an executive producer of this amazing series. The talented duo, Dan and Sean Skene, who have been at the helm of Shoresy for a long time, will be back to direct the upcoming fifth season. Can’t wait to see what they bring to the table next!
