Hypeart’s exhibit titled “Threshold” at Bonhams LA delves into the intriguing dynamic between tradition and transformation. A diverse array of pieces by artists such as Shepard Fairey, George Condo, Beverly Pepper, Sam Gilliam, and others will be showcased. This exhibition, open from February 17-21, invites viewers to reflect on the evolving landscape in both art and our broader society, exploring the shifting boundaries between them.
On February 20, there’ll be an extraordinary gathering featuring Shepard Fairey, an acclaimed artist and activist; Richard Scarry, a distinguished art curator and dealer; Larry Warsh, a notable art collector and No More Rulers founder; Keith Estiler, Managing Editor at Hypeart/HYPEBEAST; Ralph Taylor, Global Head of 20th/21st Century Art at Bonhams; and Isabel Norsten, Specialist in Post-War & Contemporary Art at Bonhams. This panel discussion will delve into the exhibition’s themes and signal the debut of “Fairey-isms“, a fresh book from No More Rulers published by Princeton University Press, which sheds light on Fairey’s perspective on propaganda and power in art.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to announce that in collaboration with No More Rulers and Project Angel Food, my game, Threshold, will showcase pieces from artists Elizabeth Neel and Margo Wolowiec. The earnings derived from these select works will be donated towards aiding those impacted by the tragic LA wildfires. Keep an eye out for further updates!
