I Just Found Out That Jennifer Lawrence And Robert Pattinson Are Going To Be In A Movie Together, And It Reminds Me Of Their Missed Twilight Connection

As a longtime fan who has followed the careers of these two phenomenal actors since their days in the YA movie realm, I am absolutely thrilled to see Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson finally sharing the screen in the upcoming 2025 movie, “Die, My Love.” It’s almost like fate that they were almost co-stars years ago and now they’re officially set to play a married couple.

During the 2010s, Robert Pattinson and Jennifer Lawrence were each widely recognized for their roles in the “Twilight” and “Hunger Games” film series respectively. Given their fame from those movies, it’s not hard to imagine that they would have a lot to discuss if they ever met – turns out, they already did! The actors had multiple encounters on the set of their upcoming 2025 movie, “Die, My Love”. As an ardent follower of both their careers, I can’t help but ponder what might have happened if they were co-stars years ago.

Jennifer Lawrence And Robert Pattinson Will Play A Married Couple In Upcoming Movie

Before I get into their Twilight connection, if this is your first time hearing about Die, My Love, surely you are wondering about it, too. The movie starring J-Law and R-Patz is a thriller that will have Lawrence playing a mother living in rural America who is struggling to manage her sanity as she deals with psychosis. In the movie, Pattinson will play her husband, and the couple is coping with their disintegrating marriage. Also in the mix is LaKeith Stanfield, who will play the lover of Lawrence’s character. You can check out the first images of the movie on X (via DiscussingFilm).

The film “Die, My Love” is adapted from Ariana Harwicz’s 2017 novel of the same name, and with Lynne Ramsay at the helm, it seems to have strong contention for awards. Ramsay has previously worked on critically acclaimed movies such as “We Need To Talk About Kevin” (2011) and “You Were Never Really Here” (2017). It’s possible that Jennifer Lawrence could earn her fifth Academy Award nomination, and perhaps Robert Pattinson will finally receive recognition for his outstanding performance in “Good Time”, which was previously overlooked.

That Time J-Law Auditioned For Twilight And Almost Skipped Hunger Games Because Of It

It’s exciting to acknowledge that Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson are incredibly gifted actors, and I appreciate their diverse post-YA roles, especially since they both have significant roles in various A24 films. Notably, it’s astonishing to learn that they are both parents now, as Pattinson welcomed a child this year. It’s intriguing to think about what could have been when Lawrence almost played Bella, a role that eventually went to Kristen Stewart. Lawrence shared this interesting tidbit during a 2023 episode of the The Rewatchables podcast, as reported by Variety.

I tried out for the movie Twilight, but they rejected me straight away without giving me a second chance. However, if things had gone differently, my life would have taken a completely different path. I landed the role in The Hunger Games around a year later, which was likely following Winter’s Bone.

Indeed, “almost” might be too intense a word, but it’s quite astonishing how the actors nearly intersected significantly over a span of 15 years. Fate must have played a role as she wouldn’t have been available for the Hunger Games films if she had landed that earlier part. Interestingly, when she was on the verge of portraying Katniss, she admitted that the hype surrounding those movies almost deterred her from accepting the role. In her own words:

In the franchise, I was still working to maintain a unique identity. If I were in ‘Twilight,’ I would have continued this effort. However, I nearly declined The Hunger Games due to the surge of the Twilight fanbase following its release.

As of now, we don’t have a scheduled premiere date for “Die, My Love“, but it promises to be an exciting collaboration with these talented actors. Meanwhile, you can catch Robert Pattinson in Bong Joon-Ho’s “Mickey 17” starting April 18th at theaters nationwide.
