As a long-time fan of Saturday Night Live and Elon Musk, I must say that the recent events surrounding their interactions have been quite intriguing. It seems like every time these two powerhouses cross paths, sparks fly!
Recently, Elon Musk and Saturday Night Live have been frequently linked, with SNL expressing some critical opinions about Dana Carvey’s portrayal of Musk during a recent episode. However, a new controversy has arisen, as cast member Chloe Fineman recently claimed that Musk made several members of the ensemble cry when he was hosting the show in 2021. Now, Musk has responded to Fineman’s allegation regarding his behavior on the set.
Months ago, Bowen Yang, a cast member on a certain show, reminisced about a guest host who made fellow cast members cry prior to a table read because he despised their ideas. Yang did not reveal the person’s identity at that time. However, in a now-deleted TikTok video, captured by Chris Gardner of THR, Chloe Fineman claimed that Elon Musk was the host who caused such an impact. In her video, Fineman discussed Musk’s negative reaction to an impression and then shared her account of the events.
Guess what? You made I, Chloe Fineman, burst into tears because I stayed up late writing a sketch. I was so excited, I came in, I asked if you had any questions and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and were like, ‘It’s not funny.’ I waited for you to be like, ‘Haha jk.’ Then you started pawing through my script, like flipping each page, being like, ‘I didn’t laugh at this. I didn’t laugh once, not one time.’
According to the actress, the comedy sketch eventually aired and she enjoyed working on it, finding the businessman particularly amusing. Later, following the removal of a post, Elon Musk commented on X’s work, acknowledging that in retrospect, things turned out well for him, but he appeared to have some initial doubts.
It wasn’t until Thursday, just before Saturday, that any of the sketches drew laughs. Initially, I was concerned that my SNL performance would be so unfunny it would cause a crackhead to abstain from drugs! However, everything turned out alright in the end, phew! 😮💨
It appears that tension preceded the particular SNL episode hosted by Elon Musk, one of his TV appearances. Both parties seem to concur that ultimately, everything worked out well. However, Musk’s hosting tenure was divisive; some cast members of the long-running comedy series expressed conflicting feelings about it during its airing. The episode featured Musk in various roles, including dressing up as Wario and portraying a cowboy.
This situation seems to have clarified the controversy surrounding the unidentified guest host who allegedly upset some of the show’s actors. Since Chloe Fineman removed her video, it remains uncertain if she will address this topic again. Nevertheless, it appears that Elon Musk has expressed his viewpoint regarding the issue explicitly.
On the 16th of November, Saturday Night Live will be back for its 50th season, featuring Charli XCX as both host and musical performer. If you’d prefer to watch online, you can do so with a Peacock subscription.
