IAG Names Kyle Loftus President

Instead of frequently switching jobs between representation agencies or moving on to management roles like many others, Kyle Loftus has consistently remained loyal as an employee at Independent Artist Group.

16 years ago, he began as an intern with the agency then known as APA. Over time, through various deals, he climbed the ladder, initially specializing in television literature representation and later being promoted to head of motion picture and television literature. Throughout his career, he’s represented the businesses of 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.

Back in his intern days 16 years ago, he was with APA. Over a number of deals, he worked his way up, first handling television literature and then taking over as head of motion picture and television literature. Throughout this journey, he’s managed the businesses of 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.

Today, it has been announced that Loftus is stepping into an executive position as President of IAG. Alongside this new role, he will also be a member of the company’s board of directors. At just mid-30s, Loftus could potentially be one of the youngest presidents in the history of full-service agencies.

In his current position as Executive Vice President and Head of Content Development, Loftus manages a variety of departments, including motion picture and television literature, alternative TV, media rights, and publishing. His leadership skills have been instrumental in aligning IAG clients’ aspirations into strategic, unified representations that smoothly match their goals. As part of his responsibilities, he also represents a prestigious list of clients. Now, Loftus is being promoted to a higher position within the agency.

As president, his duties will expand to encompass a more comprehensive leadership role across all departments and vital agency projects. Notably, he played a significant part in the successful fusion of APA and AGI to form IAG in 2023. He was promoted to partner within the company in 2018.

IAG CEO Jim Osborne called Loftus’ ascension to president “a natural progression,.”

Under Osborne’s guidance, we’ve developed numerous strategic avenues to aid our clients in expanding and thriving their businesses,” Osborne stated. “His unique talent for linking talents, music, intellectual properties, and literary resources has repeatedly brought substantial profits for our clients. This work is a significant aspect of IAG’s reputation in the marketplace. Kyle serves not only as a catalyst for client success but also as an inspiration to agents at all levels of their careers.

Osborne lavishly complimented Loftus, stating, “There’s no doubt in my mind that Kyle is the most exceptional agent I’ve ever collaborated with, and I’ve been fortunate to work with top-tier professionals within this field.

One unique aspect that sets IAG apart from other agencies is their dedicated attention to clients’ work off-camera as well as on. For instance, 50 Cent, formerly known as a rapper, has made a significant mark in the film and television industry through his G-Unit Film & Television banner. This company has been instrumental in creating popular series like the top-rated Starz show Power, which spawned numerous spin-offs and has more series in development. They also produced hit shows such as Black Mafia Family and are currently working on Fightland for Starz and ABC’s For Life. Furthermore, they established a FAST channel for 50 Cent, who continues to thrive in his music career. His 2023 Final Lap Tour earned over $100 million, and he is set for a European tour, The Legacy Tour, this summer.

Patti LaBelle, fresh from being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, creates content for various platforms. This includes movies through her Blue Butterfly Productions on Lifetime. In April, she appeared in and oversaw a worldwide streaming concert event from Madison Square Garden, collaborating with VEEPS, as part of her highly successful For My Fans North American tour.

Loftus was part of two highly successful music events: “The 100th: Billy Joel Live at Madison Square Garden,” which was an Emmy-winning concert special that drew over 20 million viewers on CBS, and the concert film “Ghost: Rite Here Rite Now,” which became the highest-grossing hard rock concert film ever, breaking a record previously held by rock icons Queen.

Loftus expressed great satisfaction in achieving this significant career achievement at IAG. He stated, “This company took a chance on me from the very beginning, and I owe a debt of gratitude to countless colleagues, mentors, clients, and friends. Above all, I must thank my partner and friend, Jim Osborne, who has always been an unwavering supporter.

Speaking highly of IAG, he went on to say, “Our team here at IAG is truly exceptional. I feel honored to take on this role, offer my assistance and share my skills throughout the agency, and help further spread the story of IAG by advocating for the success of our immensely talented clients.

Loftus will carry on representing a variety of authors and producers, including Adam Higgs (known for FUBAR), Leann Bowen (associated with Ted Lasso), and Terri Edda Miller and Andrew Marlowe (both involved in The Equalizer). He is wed to Christina Lehmann, who holds the position of Vice President of Drama Development at NBC/Peacock.
