ID Genève Announces Limited-Edition Circular 1 Grenat Timepiece With “Nisiar” Strap

As a seasoned gamer and eco-conscious individual with a penchant for unique timepieces, the ID Genéve’s Circular 1 “Nisiar” Limited Edition has certainly caught my attention. Having traveled extensively through the vineyards of France, I must admit that this collaboration between ID Genéve and MONDIN resonates deeply with my passion for sustainable living and appreciation for exquisite craftsmanship.

The latest watch from ID Geneva, called the Circular 1 “Nisiar” Limited Edition, was made in partnership with MONDIN – a unique company focusing on upgrading leftovers from grape production.

One of the key highlights of this limited timepiece is its strap, which is crafted from raw 35% grape marc from Chateauneuf-du-Pape — a renowned region for cultivating wine in the Southern Rhône Valley, France. With this collaboration, the two companies also launched Nisiar as an initiative to continue manufacturing grape-based leather. “Nisiar was born out of our desire to rethink how we use natural resources,” notes Rodolphe Mondin, the co-founder of Nisiar.

“As a gamer, I’ve got my hands on Nisiar straps, crafted with an impressive mix of 75% natural materials. These bad boys are not just durable and resilient, but they rival the toughness of genuine animal leather. But what sets them apart is the unparalleled traceability – from the vineyards of Château de Beaucastel to my wristwatch strap, I can track every step of the grape marc’s journey. Cédric Mulhauser, co-founder of ID Genève, calls it the luxury of the future, and I couldn’t agree more.”

The watch has a case size of 41 millimeters, made entirely from recycled stainless steel. This is accompanied by a Grenat dial, which has a sunray finish and gives off a deep red color, similar to wine. The dial also features indices and hands filled with luminescent material, along with the ID logo replacing the 12 o’clock hourmarker.

As a gamer myself, I’d say: “I’m eyeing the Circular 1 Grenat with the Nisiar strap, priced at 4,210 CHF or roughly $4,923 USD, limited to just 40 examples. If you’re interested too, head over to ID Genéve’s official website for more details.”
