- Idle Stickman: Wuxia Legends sees your humble stickman take on a martial arts flavour
- Kick, slash and thrash your way through hordes of enemies
- Get stronger and even acquire more power when you’re not playing with idle mechanics
As a long-time enthusiast of martial arts and mobile gaming, I can confidently say that Idle Stickman: Wuxia Legends has piqued my interest like a masterful jab to the kung-fu kid in me! With its enticing blend of stickman action and Chinese martial arts lore, it’s as if the creators have plucked my childhood memories right out of the mystic realms of time.
From Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, to Kung-Fu Panda, the world of Chinese martial arts has fascinated people in the west for generations. No wonder then that from big to small you can find titles that try to emulate this enigmatic, high-octane style of fighting. And there’s no shortage on mobile either, like today’s subject, Idle Stickman: Wuxia Legends.
Wuxia refers to a genre of Chinese literature and film that revolves around martial arts, originating from the sound “wu-sha” which is characteristic of the elaborate martial arts moves depicted. Essentially, it’s a category of Chinese martial arts fantasy, frequently incorporating sword fighting as well. In essence, it presents tales reminiscent of King Arthur and other medieval mythological adventures, but set in the context of martial arts and the world of ancient China.
Just like Idle Stickman: Wuxia Legends, it follows the basic stickman pattern but infuses it with martial arts elements. By tapping left or right, you can defeat adversaries, all while gaining new abilities and gear. There’s also an idle gameplay aspect, where your chosen stickman continues fighting even when you’re not actively playing.
Stick figure
Frequently, I discuss the fact that mobile technology surpasses the functionality of Adobe Flash in numerous aspects. And for those who recall that era, they may easily bring to mind the ubiquitous stick figure character. Simple to create, simple to animate and simple to customize with various accessories and roles, much like a digital version of Barbie from the gaming world.
As a gamer, I’m not claiming that Idle Stickman is an unparalleled masterpiece of design, but it certainly offers a decent choice if you’re into this particular genre. It’s set to drop on December 23rd for iOS, and while there’s no word yet on an Android release, I encourage everyone to stay tuned – we’ll make sure to keep you updated.
