Iko Uwais Launches Production Company with Two Exciting New Action Movies!

Today, fans of action movies are living their dreams as genre legend and accomplished martial artist, Iko Uwais, isn’t just launching his own production company, but has several action films lined up, including not one, but two new ones! Recognized for his electrifying action movies like “The Raid”, “The Raid 2”, “The Night Comes for Us”, “Snake Eyes”, and “Expend4bles”, Iko Uwais will make his directorial debut with the action-packed thriller titled “Timur“, in which he will also appear as a cast member.

According to a report by Deadline, actor Uwais is set to establish his production company, Uwais Pictures, at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin next month. His goal is to emulate the success of moderately budgeted, locally-produced films like “The Raid”, “The Raid: Redemption”, and “The Night Comes for Us”. The company aims to integrate fight choreography, action design, and stunt performance into its projects from the outset.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my enthusiasm as we embark on the next chapter of Uwais Pictures, debuting none other than “Timur and Ikatan Darah.” This time, we’re shaking up the action movie scene with a fresh, global-ready style that promises an unforgettable cinematic experience!

Iko Uwais’ Two Upcoming Action Movies Sound Perfect for ‘The Raid’ Star

From my perspective as a movie enthusiast, let’s delve into the upcoming action flicks. First on the list is “Timur,” a film inspired by the harrowing true events of the Mapenduma hostage crisis in 1996. The story follows the daring rescue operation led by none other than the current Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto. This cinematic endeavor marks the directorial debut for martial arts sensation, Iko Uwais, who is also set to star as the lead in this pulse-pounding action-thriller.

Moving on to the next film, it’s “Blood Alliance”, a story that follows my journey as a former martial arts athlete. I find myself up against a formidable network of loan sharks, this time to rescue my younger brother who’s been ensnared in online gambling debt and jeopardizing our family’s safety. As for the lead role, it’s unclear if Uwais will be back or if they’ll discover another Iko Uwais-like talent. Nevertheless, “Blood Alliance” promises to deliver raw, no-nonsense action.

In this new setup at Uwais Pictures, Iko Uwais assumes the role of Chairman, while Ryan Santoso and Yentonius Jerriel Ho both hold the position of Chief Executive Producer. Adamy Nurdin takes on the responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer. For a long time, action movie enthusiasts have been vocal about Hollywood not fully utilizing Iko Uwais’ talents. Fortunately, it seems we are finally seeing some projects starring Iko Uwais that live up to his performance in “The Raid.” Unfortunately, one of these projects won’t be “The Raid 3,” as director Gareth Evans has confirmed that the sequel is no longer in production. Back in November 2024, Evans shared some details about the plot that had been planned…

The narrative would jump back to a pivotal moment in “The Raid 2,” where the Goto Gang, a Japanese criminal organization, convene. Goto orders his trusted lieutenant to eliminate all corrupt cops and politicians listed in their records, effectively starting anew. This sets up “The Raid 3,” which would open with Rama exiting the building after eliminating everyone, stating he’s had enough, and getting into Bunawar’s car to depart. Meanwhile, the Japanese gang is left puzzling over their next move as they realize every member they intended to eliminate has been wiped out. As they drive off, another car appears suddenly and attacks them, resulting in a collision that leaves only Goto, his son, and the right-hand man surviving. The scene then transitions to credits, marking the beginning of “The Raid 3.
