As a dedicated fan who has followed Colin Jost’s comedy journey since his days on “Saturday Night Live,” I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with curiosity about his recent Olympic escapades. From his hilarious foot injury to his self-proclaimed leper status, he managed to bring laughter and suspense to the Olympics in a way that only he can.
2024 Olympic Games brought about numerous awe-inspiring highlights. The Pommel Horse athlete earned numerous Superman comparisons, including recognition from the latest DC Man of Steel, David Corenswet. Simultaneously, Simone Biles claimed her gold medals, Noah Lyles won the 100m race (likely while dealing with Covid), and the US Women’s Rugby team achieved a historic victory. During this time, Colin Jost’s coverage stood out as particularly amusing, despite him getting hurt, and jokingly claiming that ants invaded his injuries. However, there has been no update regarding his recent whereabouts.
As recently as I knew, Colin Jost had been transferred to Malta due to an injury that seemed severe enough to make his foot appear on the verge of detachment. He also missed the concluding phases of surf coverage in Tahiti, apart from the “ear infection” and other health issues he mentioned to Mike Tirico, which he’d acquired during his stint at NBC. In jest, he expressed his aspiration to have as many infections as there are Olympic events, relaxing in a pool with just half of his body submerged.
The physician advised against submerging my feet due to a coral reef infection, and avoiding getting my head wet was recommended due to an inner ear infection. However, this doesn’t imply that I can’t continue having fun in the pool with the rest of my body.
After that, there’s been an unusually long pause. The comedian seems to have gone quiet on his social media platforms, and even though I don’t expect anything from him on a personal level, isn’t it reasonable to hope for some fresh news or updates?
I believe Jost might counter that he provided an entertaining foot-update for fans with his video about being transferred to Malta. Indeed, it was quite funny. In this video, he discussed how NBC labeled him a pariah and debunked rumors suggesting he’d been dismissed due to injury. Instead, he claimed he spent the money he earned as a surfing correspondent at a local casino.
To clarify, I’m doing well, contrary to sensationalist stories in mainstream media. NBC didn’t expel me from the Olympics; instead, they assessed my foot condition, deemed it unfit for competition under their rules, and thus, I found myself here on the beautiful island of Malta.
To clarify, his severe foot injury from the Olympics was quite noticeable, and fans would have appreciated a brief update when he returned home. Given that Scarlett Johansson had been playfully teasing him about his job earlier, it’s only fitting to share how well his feet are doing now if they are in good health. After all, why not bring some excitement to the community at wikifeet?
As a devoted spectator, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of farewell as I watched the closing ceremony, where athletes proudly adorned their medals and beamed with joy. Back home, it was heartwarming to see social media updates from many of these athletes as they embraced their loved ones once again. For Simone Biles, however, the excitement didn’t end there; she even found herself caught in the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears rivalry!
Indeed, I’ve been yearning to see them on my screen, yet I still manage to stay informed about their situations.
In regards to Jost, I was eager to learn about his post-Malta life, so I extensively searched online for news on the comedian. The most substantial information I found was that he would be taking over Pete Davidson’s role in a comedy show next month. You might already be aware that the Saturday Night Live (SNL) comedian, not Jost, sought rehab earlier this year and had to cancel some scheduled performances.
As a fellow fan, it seems that when two men join forces and acquire something like the Staten Island Ferry, they’re bound together in more ways than one! With him performing at the Rochester Fringe Festival this Friday, September 13th, I won’t worry too much about his foot health since he’ll likely be on his feet during the show. Keep me posted if anything noteworthy happens, as updates on his performance are as essential to me as a good loofah is for my daily shower routine!
