As a die-hard fan who has watched every episode of Suits multiple times and even started a podcast about it, I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear that Stephen Amell’s new series, Suits L.A., is coming our way next year! The fact that Gabriel Macht will reprise his role as Harvey Specter is an absolute treat, and it has naturally sparked speculation about whether Patrick J. Adams might return as Mike Ross.

The upcoming TV schedule is ready to treat fans of a highly acclaimed legal drama with a delightful New Year’s present when the series Suits L.A., featuring Stephen Amell, premieres on February 23rd. Interestingly, it was also revealed that Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter in the original Suits, will reprise his role in a recurring capacity. However, there has been no confirmation yet about Patrick J. Adams returning to play Mike Ross once more. It’s been heartening to note that many people associated with the 2023 revival of the popular series Suits have expressed enjoyment from their time on set. They are not only thrilled that a larger audience is discovering this nine-season show (which concluded in 2019), but they are also pleased for creator Aaron Korsh, as he capitalizes on this resurgence to bring Suits L.A. to NBC soon. In an interview with Collider, Patrick J. Adams, who co-hosts a Suits rewatch podcast with Sarah Rafferty, was asked about potential screen returns and responded:

I’m thrilled about the opportunity to share my experience, excited to delve deeper into it a bit, delighted to offer another take on Suits, and overjoyed that fans will get a taste of Harvey Specter too. It’s fantastic! If someone else asks me to join in the future and it seems appropriate, we might do it. However, I’m quite content to leave that character right where he is.

Hey supporters! Don’t let your spirits fall just because Adams hasn’t fully confirmed revealing the contemporary Mike yet. Remember, it doesn’t mean he’s definitely saying no, either.

In his own words, Mike Colter from Suits shares the reason behind his departure from the legal drama after season 7: “For me, that moment represented a breaking point.

I can see why he’d want to explore Mike’s story further, given the immense love fans have for his character from “Better Call Saul.” Rewatching his portrayal as an unorthodox lawyer is a favorite pastime for many. Therefore, any move to extend his narrative is significant, so it should only be done if it seems perfectly suitable.

Moreover, remember that Macht is returning to his character, but he previously mentioned taking a break from Harvey since he was growing increasingly similar to the harsh lawyer in reality. Consequently, I too can appreciate him needing space to pursue other professional endeavors for Adams.

The actor went on to explain that his character, who later married Meghan Markle’s character, Rachel Zane, wasn’t abruptly ended due to an unexpected finale. Instead, in the season 7 finale, Mike and Rachel chose to relocate from New York to Seattle for work at a new firm after their wedding. He further commented:

I think it ended in a perfect place. I don’t know. I’m so fascinated about what it is about that world and specifically Aaron’s point of view because he’s the creator and the mastermind of Suits, and what it is about his voice that resonates so deeply with people. He’s obviously insanely talented and has such a particular sense of humor. I just wish the best for Suits: L.A. I hope they get to have as magical and extended an experience as we had on the original.
