As a die-hard fan who has spent countless hours immersed in the gripping world of The Lincoln Lawyer, I can confidently say that Season 3 left me reeling. The cliffhanger ending, with our beloved Mickey being arrested for a murder he didn’t commit, sent shockwaves through my living room!
Warning: Significant plot reveals for the finale of ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Season 3 await! If you haven’t caught up on the show just yet, you can watch it now by subscribing to Netflix.
Following the debut of “The Lincoln Lawyer” on the 2024 TV lineup, I eagerly devoured the Netflix series as if it were my last day, only to be left disappointed by its conclusion. The reason for my distress lies in the fact that Season 3 concluded with Sam Scales being discovered dead in the back of Mickey’s cherished Lincoln. Despite the titular lawyer appearing worried after being handcuffed during the finale’s closing moments, co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez revealed to me why Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who portrays him, was actually overjoyed by this turn of events.
Thinking about Mickey being sent to prison for a murder he didn’t commit stirs up feelings of fear within me. Yet, the actor portraying the lawyer finds this situation exhilarating, which is why Manuel Garcia-Rulfo felt so energized when informed about his character’s destiny – as Rodriguez shared with TopMob during our interview.
I mean, he loves it. He’s so excited. He can’t wait to be in prison. He’s like, ‘When am I in jail?’ [Laughs] He’s excited because it’s something different, and playing a different thing, and not being in a suit, and emotionally being in a very different place than he has been in the last two seasons.
During our discussion, the co-showrunner shared that if they secure a fourth season, the upcoming episodes will be adapted from Michael Connelly’s novel “The Law of Innocence.” In this narrative, Mickey is falsely accused and imprisoned for the murder of Sam, whom he did not commit. The story then unfolds as Mickey fights to clear his name from within prison.
As reported by his supervisor, Garcia-Rulfo is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to portray this tale and reveal an unexplored aspect of Mickey, she mentioned.
In Season 3, we assert that there’s no greater purpose than advocating for an innocent individual. However, the crux of the matter is not merely representing someone else but being capable of defending yourself, knowing you are blameless. Consequently, it would make the struggle even more daunting in Season 4 if such a scenario arises.
I’m just as eager as you to witness what unfolds next, and trust me, I’m absolutely thrilled about it! After Eddie’s passing, the challenging court case with Julian (which they managed to win), and Mickey rekindling his relationship with his daughter, the climax of this story was
I’m really looking forward to seeing Manuel Garcia-Rulfo bring his enthusiasm for this tale to life on screen, as I’d love to be a part of the experience too!
Given that “The Lincoln Lawyer” has been a top pick on Netflix in 2024, it’s likely we’ll see another season. But for now, the production company hasn’t confirmed a fourth season yet.
