However, the news of his limited filming schedule has left me with a bit of a knot in my corset.
As a dedicated Bridgerton gamer, I’m pumped to announce that Viscount Anthony Bridgerton is officially making his comeback! Previously, it was just speculation that Jonathan Bailey would return as the eldest brother of the Bridgerton clan in season 4. But now, he’s confirmed it himself!
Jonathan Bailey Confirmed That He’s Returning For Bridgerton Season 4
Initially, there were expectations that Jonathan Bailey would return to his viscount role in Season 4 of “Bridgerton”. Now, it’s officially confirmed he will. Given his limited involvement in Colin and Penelope’s love story and numerous high-profile projects ahead, some speculated his participation might shift. However, this confirmation is comforting as the actor himself shared with Good Morning America that he will indeed be part of the cast.
As an elder sibling, I’m eagerly looking forward to lending my support to the up-and-coming talent as we embark on this journey together. Luckily, a few weeks have been reserved in my calendar for my return, so I can hardly contain my excitement! Additionally, Luke Thompson is bound to shine, and I’m intrigued to discover who his romantic counterpart will be in the story.
It turns out that we already know who will be the love interest of the character, as they’ve cast Yerin Ha as Sophie Beckett. I’m excited because Regé-Jean Page, who played Bailey, has planned a return to ‘Bridgerton’ for Season 4! In the previous season, he was juggling the regency romance while also filming ‘Wicked’ and the miniseries ‘Fellow Travelers’. Given his busy schedule, I wondered if he would come back for Season 4.
Yet, it’s not just that he’s returning, but he’s particularly excited for this upcoming season, which centers around Benedict (previously referred to by us). His enthusiasm for Luke Thompson’s character continues to grow.

In 2024, I eagerly anticipated the release of Season 3 of Bridgerton on Netflix, sharing the excitement of many others for Penelope and Colin’s storyline. Nonetheless, my preference lies with Kate and Anthony, and I couldn’t help but feel a bit let down by their limited screen time in the series.

It’s clear they weren’t going to take the lead in the series, but I preferred them to have more screen time rather than travel extensively throughout it. Given Bailey’s recent statement that filming for Season 4 will span a couple of weeks, I’m concerned Anthony might not have a significant role in the upcoming episodes.
Just like we’re all aware, creating an entire season of a show like Bridgerton requires considerable time, which is why there’s usually a two-year gap between episodes. Considering it takes several months to shoot each episode, two weeks might seem quite short in comparison to the overall production timeline.
It’s important to recall that Anthony Bridgerton is the viscount and the head of his household. Given this, it’s reasonable to assume that he will significantly influence his younger siblings’ stories. However, due to the limited filming period, I suspect this might not transpire as anticipated. Perhaps Anthony and Kate are planning extended travels, possibly for business, or else they may be compressing a large number of scenes into the reduced two weeks Bailey has allotted for the show, which could leave him with a heavy workload.
Although Bailey’s schedule is packed, it’s understandable that he might not be present for every scene during production. However, one can only hope to see more of him! At the very least, we know for certain that Anthony will feature in several episodes of Season 4.
