In simpler terms, WOMBO’s AI avatar app has teamed up with Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (io.net) of DePin. This collaboration will utilize io.net’s decentralized Apple silicon chips to enhance WOMBO’s machine learning model. By joining forces, the WOMBO ecosystem, comprised of the WOMBO app, Dream, and WOMBO Me, will add more computing power to their products through io.net’s decentralized GPU network.
Io.net’s recent collaboration is noteworthy as they were the first cloud service provider to adopt Apple silicon chips for machine learning applications. This decision, announced in February, was made to provide Apple users and machine learning engineers with more affordable and convenient GPU computing solutions.
WOMBO, as a trailblazing collaborator in the field of generative AI, plans to utilize Apple’s powerful silicon chip clusters to run its machine learning models.
“Io.net’s collaboration with us at WOMBO brings great enthusiasm. Together, we aim to utilize underused computing power for pioneering AI projects, potentially easing the scarcity of GPUs in the market,” expressed Ben-Zion Benkhin, our CEO.
io.net’s goal to minimize operational costs
For businesses specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML), like WOMBO, cloud computing represents a substantial financial commitment. The demand for cloud computing services is soaring, yet the availability of hardware remains restricted. Consequently, data storage becomes costly and inefficient, resulting in increased expenses and longer processing times for companies.
Spokespersons announced that WOMBO’s collaboration with io.net will address its issues effectively. The Decentralized Processing Infrastructure Network (DePIN) provides affordable on-demand cluster solutions by pooling together decentralized and geographically dispersed GPUs.
At io.net, we offer access to top-performing GPUs from the market, with over 100,000 nodes available in our network. This allows machine learning engineers to quickly and affordably deploy Ray and Kubernetes clusters with thousands of GPUs. With WOMBO’s widespread popularity, having over 200 million application downloads, partnering with io.net will significantly boost its expansion as operational costs are kept low.
WOMBO taps into Apple’s silicon chips
Io.net made a groundbreaking announcement in February, enabling hundreds of millions of Apple users worldwide to share their unused Apple chip computing power for AI/ML projects. WOMBO is now among the platforms taking advantage of this distinctive feature and plans to utilize these resources to strengthen its machine learning models.
This project intends to utilize Apple’s Neural Engine technology on their chips and io.net’s massive clustering capabilities to access hundreds of millions of consumer devices for artificial intelligence tasks.
On WOMBO’s partnership and the utilization of Apple silicon chips, Benkhin added:
“WOMBO, which reached over 74 million users in over 180 countries at its prime, showcases the power and expansiveness of a consumer AI app.”
After being launched in December, io.net has accumulated a total of over 520,000 GPUs and CPUs, and its infrastructure is now valued at more than $2 billion.
