A sneak peek at the upcoming Disney+ series reveals its timeline, which aligns with the aftermath of a specific event denoted by a period.

Marvel Studios shared a fresh teaser showcasing interviews with lead actress Dominique Thorne and other creatives behind the upcoming series “Ironheart“, including director Ryan Coogler and showrunner Chinaka Hodge. This sneak peek, dropped a day prior to the new trailer launch, saw Hodge confirm that the story of “Ironheart” unfolds three days after the sequel of “Black Panther“, focusing on the character’s transformative years.

Ryan Coogler expressed his enthusiasm over the upcoming Ironheart series, reminiscing about the anticipation that surrounded the comic book character’s debut in 2016. The acclaimed director shared that he is thrilled to introduce this character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Wakanda’s narrative fabric. Moreover, Coogler expressed his excitement about the series and feels privileged to share these beloved stories with audiences. Furthermore, Hodge praised Coogler for adapting Riri’s background for television, with Thorne describing the show as a “powerful introduction” for Ironheart in the Marvel Universe.

Riri, an MIT student and inventor extraordinaire, played a significant role in the movie “Wakanda Forever,” collaborating with the new Black Panther, Shuri (Letitia Wright), following her invention of a vibranium detector. This film received a 84% critical acclaim on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed over $859 million globally, and will delve deeper into Riri’s story in the upcoming series “Ironheart.” In “Ironheart,” Thorne hinted that Riri will engage in introspection after the sequel’s many emotional scenes. Production for “Ironheart” was wrapped up around the time of “Wakanda Forever’s” release in late 2022, with some additional filming taking place early the following year.

In Ironheart, Riri comes back to her hometown Chicago after the events in Wakanda Forever, where she gets involved with Anthony Ramos’ character who is fascinated by dark arts. As she interacts with Parker, Riri uncovers various secrets that lead to a clash between technology and magic, thrusting her into a perilous odyssey brimming with thrills and excitement. Thorne, Ramos, Lyric Ross (Natalie Washington), Alden Ehrenreich (Joe McGillicuddy) and Jim Rash from Captain America: Civil War join the cast, along with Sacha Baron Cohen in a role yet to be revealed.

The Series Has Been Delayed Multiple Times

In the forthcoming five-part miniseries, there are six episodes in total and it follows a sequence after certain events. Simultaneously, characters such as Thorne, Mysterio, Doctor Strange, Doomsday, and Secret Wars are eager to encounter Reed Richards’ Doctor Doom on screen.

Ironheart premieres via Disney+ on Jun. 24 with a triple-episode premiere.
