The comedy-drama film “Angrezi Medium,” which was released prior to his untimely death, served as his final screen appearance. In a recent conversation, his fellow cast member and actress Radhikka Madan reminisced about the moment when he predicted that she would be remembered for acting alongside him in this movie.
During a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Radhikka Madan reminisced about working on Irrfan Khan’s final film, Angrezi Medium. She shared that she remembered this project particularly because Irrfan passed away in April 2020. When queried if she was aware of the senior actor’s health issues prior to his demise, the actress disclosed that both she and the director Homi Adajania were shielded from such knowledge, as they thought it might impact her performance given her newcomer status in the film industry.
In our conversation, she shared that during their interaction in London, she remembered filming the final part of the movie with Khan. Madan then mentioned that on their last day on set, she asked him for a selfie after their scene. The Hindi Medium replied, “You will always remember me,” which was his last words to her. At that moment, she learned that he wasn’t doing well, as she emotionally explained later on. After completing the film, she found out about Khan’s deteriorating health.
In addition to her memories of their final scene together, the actress noted that afterward, she observed the late actor growing weaker both emotionally and mentally. She shared that this was the moment when his eyes lost their sparkle, leaving her puzzled. Upon inquiring about it from Homi, he advised her to carry on with her performance, regardless of the circumstances.
Following Irrfan Khan’s passing, Radhikka Madan shared a heartfelt remembrance on social media about working together on a movie. She posted a set photo and honored him as an extraordinary individual often referred to as ‘Irrfan.’
