Marvel Comics announced a revival of their “Marvel Swimsuit Special” after three decades, and it’s been confirmed this edition will feature swimsuit costumes for characters in “Marvel Rivals”. What’s intriguing is that there’s buzz around the possibility that the special might also contain hints or previews for future playable heroes.
By examining the promotional photos, it appears that various Marvel characters who aren’t part of Rivals right now have made an appearance. Some fans are speculating that this could mean we might see them joining the roster in the near future.
Marvel Swimsuit Special
The Marvel Comic titled “Swimsuit Special” will hit the stands on July 9th. It showcases various iconic Marvel characters donning swimsuits. Take a look!
On the cover artwork by Adam Hughes, you’ll find both characters who are currently part of the game and additional ones such as She-Hulk, Wasp, and Captain Marvel.

Who has been Leaked Before?
Among the characters who will be appearing in this game have previously been unveiled, such as Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, and Captain Marvel. There are other heroes yet to be discovered by data miners, but their appearance is eagerly anticipated by fans, including She-Hulk.
Although I haven’t seen requests for Wasp to be playable yet, she would certainly enrich the game with her flight and shrinking abilities. It could be interesting if they followed a similar approach to Cloak & Dagger and paired her with Ant-Man. Together, they could create quite a duo, causing chaos as Ant-Man and the Wasp. An ultimate ability for them could be Giant-Man’s power, where he temporarily grows large and stomps across the map for a few seconds.
Returning to the earlier rumors, data miners have uncovered files pertaining to several Marvel characters such as Professor X, Beast, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Deadpool, Trapster/Paste Pot Pete, MODOK, Colossus, Angela (Thor’s sister), and Hit-Monkey. Among the leaked characters, Emma Frost, Ultron, and Blade have already been verified for the game, with more to follow at some point.
It’s uncertain which characters NetEase will introduce following Ultron, but since they’ve mentioned six more heroes coming out this year, there’s a good possibility that some of these characters might still be unannounced.
Marvel Rivals is now playable for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
