It’s unusual for a new release to be so cryptic regarding its plot, which certainly applies to Isoland: Pumpkin Town. Instead of being straightforward, this game seems to dance around its topic, making it unclear if it connects to the broader Isoland series or not. However, regardless of its storyline, it’s now available for download on both the iOS App Store and Google Play!
Without a doubt, although Isoland: Pumpkin Town might seem shy about its origins, it’s clearly from a familiar developer. The creators behind this game are CottonGame, who have previously developed Mr. Pumpkin and other quirky point-and-click titles such as the recently released and more intense Reviver. However, Isoland could be considered their most prominent series of point-and-click puzzle games.
In terms of gameplay, the Mr Pumpkin series and CottonGames offer numerous titles that feature fantastical and dreamlike environments to delve into. These games are rich with intricate puzzles and deep narratives, making them a perfect fit for fans of classic, surreal point-and-click adventures.
Mr Pumpkin the Unready
In my opinion, Isoland: Pumpkin Town’s main disadvantage is that its artwork appears less detailed than expected, given the dense and dreamlike style of Mr. Pumpkin. From the screenshots, it seems a bit too polished or neat, but this could be a minor issue considering it seems to be a spin-off game.
