Issa Rae, ‘Last of Us’ Cast Set for SXSW Speakers Line-Up

At the 2025 SXSW conference, Issa Rae, Conan O’Brien, and the cast of the HBO show “The Last of Us” will be among those speaking.

Additionally, the lineup for panels, keynotes, and discussions features Taylor Tomlinson as the host after midnight, Kevin Bacon, Joe Manganiello, Eric Ledgin from St. Denis Medical, and Nahnatchka Khan of Laid.

New members have been incorporated into the lineup, which already features John Fogerty, Jay Graber (CEO of Bluesky), and Arvind Krishna (Chairman and CEO of IBM).

Rae’s keynote speech will delve into her diverse work portfolio, including her roles on Insecure and Barbie, as well as her production company Hoorae, which produced the SXSW documentary Seen and Heard. The creators of The Last of Us, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, will give us a sneak peek at the second season of their hit HBO show, with cast members Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, and Young Mazino also participating. Lastly, Bacon will discuss his career highlights, from Footloose to his upcoming role in Amazon’s The Bondsman series.

The SXSW festival and conference takes place from March 7th to the 15th in Austin. During this event, some highly-anticipated premieres are scheduled, such as Blake Lively’s film “Another Simple Favor,” Seth Rogen’s series “The Studio,” and Ben Affleck’s follow-up movie titled “The Accountant 2.”
