‘It cost me Rs 90,000 for…’: Dabangg actor Tinnu Anand reacts to backlash for voicing against dog attack

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share an unfortunate incident involving Tinnu Anand, a seasoned Bollywood actor. His private WhatsApp message, which inadvisably threatened harm towards stray dogs in Mumbai, garnered widespread criticism and went viral. Now, addressing the backlash he has faced, Mr. Anand stated, ‘The cost to me was approximately Rs 90,000.’

Following backlash from a number of people due to his comments about potentially harming stray dogs in Mumbai, Tinnu Anand issued his initial response. In an interview with The Free Press Journal, the experienced Bollywood actor explained and upheld his stance on the matter. In his statement to the publication, the Dabangg actor maintained that he fully intended the words expressed in his WhatsApp message.

The actor shared that his daughter had been hospitalized for a broken wrist over the past month following an incident. Specifically, he explained that while attempting to protect their family pet from three stray dogs in their community, his daughter fell and sustained the injury. This unfortunate event cost him approximately Rs 90,000 as she underwent surgery twice.

Anand posed a question about those who love dogs: “If these individuals have such doubts, yet they feed and care for these animals, why not lead them on a leash instead?” He emphasized that at 80 years old, he retains the right to protect himself if a dog were to attack him.

In response to the criticism directed at him, the actor from Hasee Toh Phasee explained that some individuals on the internet have been overly critical, using their “quick-typing fingers.” However, he has chosen to disregard these comments entirely, as he stands by what he’s written. He also clarified that his statement was not meant to provoke or attack anyone, but rather to defend himself. He questioned the logic of those citing a Supreme Court order, asking where it states that one cannot defend oneself against an attacking dog. In conclusion, Tinnu emphasized this point.

For those who may not be aware, Tinnu Anand posted a widely shared message mentioning an unsettling filming experience where he was met by aggressive dogs barking upon his return. He boldly declared, “I’m up for the challenge. I have a hockey stick ready to handle them… dog lovers, I suggest you take care of these animals or else prepare for my response… my neighbors have been alerted in advance.

Soon after his message went viral, a case was filed at the Versova Police Station.
