As a movie enthusiast, I’ve been following with keen interest the ongoing legal tussle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Both parties seem unyielding in their respective claims against each other, a spectacle that has drawn comments from various quarters not directly involved. The latest voice to join the chorus is Ari Emmanuel, the influential executive at the powerhouse talent agency WME. In an exclusive interview, he clarified his rationale behind dropping Baldoni and maintaining Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, as clients.
As a passionate cinephile myself, I’d rephrase it this way: In a heartfelt interview during a Freakonomics Radio Live show, Ari Emmanuel, CEO of Endeavor, didn’t mince words when expressing his support for the dynamic duo, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Through The Hollywood Reporter, he voiced his admiration for them. During our chat, Emmanuel couldn’t help but extol the virtues of this celebrated pair. From my perspective, it’s downright unfair that they’re being accused by the director and co-lead of It Ends with Us.
It’s unfortunate and unfair how the situation has unfolded with Bologna, Baldoni, or whoever his name is, especially since I had to dismiss him. Over the past decade, Ryan and Blake have been more than just colleagues to me; they are truly remarkable individuals. Their success in Hollywood speaks volumes about their abilities, yet they’ve never caused any problems or treated people poorly. In fact, they have always been generous – even supporting our foundation with charitable donations.
More on Justin Baldoni and Ryan Reynolds

It’s not unexpected, as explained by a defamation lawyer, why Justin Baldoni is involving Ryan Reynolds in his lawsuit.
The issue at hand started back in December, when Blake Lively made a legal claim against Justin Baldoni, his production company Wayfarer Studios, and others. She accused Baldoni of sexual harassment during the filming of IEWU, an allegation he denies. Lively further claimed that his associates tried to tarnish her reputation. These accusations were detailed in a comprehensive article by The New York Times. Eventually, Lively took legal action against Baldoni based on the points made in her claim.
At the point when I was publicly refuting allegations against me, my representation at WME parted ways with me. Later on, I filed a lawsuit worth $250 million against The New York Times for alleged libel and more. Subsequently, I initiated another lawsuit worth $400 million against my former co-star, Ryan Reynolds, and others, claiming defamation, extortion, and other misconduct. Regarding the accusations leveled against me, Ari Emmanuel appeared to object to the idea of me collaborating with others to harm the reputation of the actress from Age of Adaline.
If the claims made in her lawsuit and the incidents on social media about Baldoni spreading unfavorable stories about the actress are accurate, then it’s clear that if she was mistreated as suggested, both he and Heath (being director and producer) are truly unkind individuals. However, I have personal knowledge of Blake and Ryan, and I can vouch for their kindness.
The CEO of Endeavor expressed his strong loyalty towards the Lively/Reynolds family, finding it repugnant that the former star of “Jane the Virgin” might supposedly retaliate against Blake Lively for voicing concerns about him to the studio. In addition, during this conversation, he touched upon both the benefits and drawbacks of social media and its potential role in this ongoing conflict.
At times, social media can be beneficial as it allows individuals and celebrities to interact with their followers. However, if the claims against Baldoni and Heath are accurate, they’ve misused this platform for ill intentions. It’s crucial to remember that social media has the potential to cause harm, and those using it should refrain from intimidating, hurting, or abusing others. If these allegations are true, then Baldoni and Heath are behaving inappropriately. In contrast, Lively and Reynolds are well-respected figures in the industry who have maintained a positive reputation for decades. So, if the accusations against them are indeed false, they are being unfairly tarnished.
Although Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni haven’t faced each other in court as of now, it seems that their ongoing legal disagreement has affected them in various ways. Specifically, sources suggest that Lively’s social media popularity has experienced a minor decrease, with some experts linking this trend to questions surrounding her friendship with Taylor Swift during this period. (Swift was mentioned in leaked messages circulated by Baldoni’s team.)
For now, it’s unclear how long this situation will continue, and in the interim, various legal experts are offering their insights. One lawyer predicts that things might become increasingly contentious as time passes, possibly growing even more difficult. Only time will tell if this prediction holds true. However, one thing is certain: Ari Emmanuel and Blake Lively, along with Ryan Reynolds and their associates, are currently united in this situation.
