I’ve Been Waiting And Waiting To Binge Mayfair Witches. Alexandra Daddario Is Celebrating It Hitting Netflix, But I Think It Highlights One Big Problem AMC Has

As a long-time TV enthusiast who has juggled more streaming services than I care to count, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and frustration at the latest development with AMC+ and their show, “Mayfair Witches.” On one hand, I’m thrilled that I can now binge this captivating series on Netflix alongside its star, Alexandra Daddario. The gothic, magical, and dark aesthetic of the show has me hooked, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting a chance to watch it.

It seems we’ve all had the challenge of deciding which top-tier streaming services to stick with and which ones to let go. Consequently, services such as AMC+ might be overlooked. However, now one of its popular shows, “Mayfair Witches,” can be streamed through a Netflix subscription. While I’m eager to watch it just like its lead actress Alexandra Daddario is excited about its new platform, I can’t help but ponder the predicament AMC faces in this situation.

We Can Finally Binge Mayfair Witches On Netflix, And Alexandra Daddario Is Celebrating

Ever since the premiere of the chilling “Mayfair Witches” in January 2023, it was only available on AMC or AMC+, leaving me, like many others, in a bind because I don’t have live TV nor an AMC+ subscription. But guess what? The wait is finally over! Now, you and I can catch up with this captivating series featuring the talented Alexandra Daddario without any hassle. Cheers to streaming services that make our favorite shows accessible again!

Season 1 of the series is now on Netflix, and Daddario celebrated it on Instagram with a few photos from various episodes and a sweet caption that read:

Excitedly speaking here as a fellow enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement! If you’ve been eagerly anticipating the debut of #MayfairWitches, grab your popcorn and settle in because Season 1 is streaming exclusively on Netflix right now! And for those who prefer AMC+, it’s always ready to entertain you there too! Enjoy the magic!

I’m absolutely thrilled to dive into this show! It’s an adaptation of Anne Rice’s cherished books, focusing on a neurosurgeon discovering her lineage as a witch from the Mayfair family. From the trailer alone, it appears that Mayfair Witches will be eerie, mysterious, gothic, and enchanting. I’ve long been drawn to shows with such themes, and I can’t wait to explore Dakota Daddario’s series.

However, this development has also highlighted a bigger issue AMC has.

However, While I’m Excited About This, It Highlights A Big Problem AMC Has

In essence, this action was thrilling, yet it underscored the hassle of AMC+. This specialized streaming platform primarily provides content that is also available on the channel AMC, such as the entirety of the Walking Dead universe, Interview with a Vampire, and others. Although intriguing, the limited selection doesn’t seem substantial enough to warrant a subscription for me.

Consider this perspective: AMC is somewhat similar to FX and HBO in terms of their high-quality and specialized content. They are renowned for such programming. Interestingly, shows from both FX and HBO can be accessed via live TV or by having a basic Hulu subscription for the former, and Max subscription for the latter. This means you get access to all their shows without any additional cost, plus all the other content Hulu/Max offers. However, AMC+ doesn’t provide this same all-inclusive package.

With Hulu, you can enjoy some of its top shows such as “The Bear” from FX and original productions like “Only Murders in the Building”, along with series from ABC like “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Bachelor”. The best part is that these are all included in your basic plan without any additional cost. In contrast, AMC+ provides content from its channel as well as a few extra perks, but it doesn’t offer as much variety or value compared to what streamers like Hulu provide with their standard plans.

It’s important to mention that several shows from AMC can be found on Netflix, such as the different versions of The Walking Dead, Interview with a Vampire, and Mayfair Witches. Unlike FX and Hulu, new seasons typically don’t arrive on Netflix until well after they’ve been broadcasted on AMC.

I wish that AMC+ could be part of Netflix in the same way FX is part of Hulu or HBO is part of Max. It would make its shows more accessible and really help grow a passionate audience.

Perhaps one day that event will transpire, but for the present, I’m planning on immersing myself in the series Mayfair Witches on Netflix. If I find myself eager enough, maybe I’ll even catch Season 2 on AMC+ when it debuts. However, it seems more probable that, like many others, I’ll probably postpone watching Season 2 until it has run its course and eventually appears on Netflix, as one can only manage so many subscriptions.
