Jack Black Cancels Tenacious D Tour After Being “Blindsided” By Partner Kyle Gass’ Trump Comment

As a long-time fan of Tenacious D, I was absolutely devastated to hear about the cancellation of their world tour following Kyle Gass’ controversial comment during a performance in Sydney. The duo has always been known for their humor and musical talent, and their shows are always a source of excitement and joy for fans like me.

The Tenacious D worldwide tour had to be called off due to backlash following controversial remarks made by Kyle Gass onstage in Australia. Tenacious D is the band formed by Gass and his collaborator Jack Black.

“Sunday’s show took Black by surprise with its unexpected comments.”

As a passionate fan, I’d like to clarify that I firmly denounce hate speech and discourage political violence under any circumstances. Regarding Tenacious D, I must admit that I’ve cherished every bit of their work. However, after careful consideration, I no longer believe it is suitable for me to proceed with the tour or any upcoming creative projects. I am deeply thankful for the fans’ unwavering support and understanding during this time.

During Sunday’s show in Sydney, Black and a robot brought out a birthday cake for Gass on stage. In the footage, you can hear Black encouraging Gass to make a wish before blowing out the candles. Just before doing so, Gass quipped, “Don’t forget Trump next time,” eliciting laughter and cheers from the Sydney audience.

Social media users rapidly shared the videos, leading Australian Senator Ralph Babet to call for the duo’s visas to be canceled and for them to leave the country.

I was thrilled to be following Tenacious D on their global trek, which had them performing in various Australian and New Zealand venues throughout July. Their tour itinerary indicated that they would pick up again in the U.S. in October with shows scheduled in Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
