Jack Quaid’s Intense Role in ‘Novocaine’ Will Leave You Breathless!

In the fresh action-comedy titled “Novocaine,” directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, Jack Quaid takes on the role of Nathan Caine, a timid and reserved individual. An unexpected turn of events finds his girlfriend being held captive during a bank heist. Although this scenario might seem straightforward, the twist comes when we learn that Quaid’s character, Nathan, suffers from CIP (congenital insensitivity to pain). This unique condition adds an element of chaos to the film, which is set for release by Paramount Pictures on March 14.

Today, a fresh poster for the upcoming movie has been unveiled, showcasing the grueling ordeals faced by the protagonist, Quaid. Not only does he appear to be colliding forcefully with a shattered windowpane, but his hands – one bruised and bloodied, the other showing signs of extensive injury, even flayed skin. Alongside Quaid, the film Novocaine boasts the talents of Amber Midthunder as his character Shari, in addition to Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon, Betty Gabriel, and Matt Walsh.

Jack Quaid Calls ‘Novocaine’ One of the “Hardest” Films He’s Ever Worked On

Born to famous parents Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, Quaid has grown accustomed to tackling challenging roles in films. He initially made his mark with a minor role in The Hunger Games, followed by his breakout performance as Hughie Campbell in The Boys. His contributions to the Scream series are also well-known, and he recently starred alongside Sophie Thatcher in the successful horror movie Companion. However, Quaid mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter that filming for Novocaine was particularly grueling due to its physical demands on his body.

Working on that film was among the most challenging experiences I’ve had, primarily due to physical demands. I might seem an unusual choice for an action hero, which is what makes ‘Novocaine’ intriguing to me. People probably don’t anticipate me performing action sequences, but in that movie, I deliver a unique brand of action.

He went on to say, “Performing in scenes devoid of pain and avoiding flinching is quite intriguing.” He explained, “Normally, you’d respond instinctively when struck numerous times, but I don’t in this film. That was a unique challenge for me.” You can observe how he navigated the turbulence when the movie Novocaine hits theaters on March 14, courtesy of Paramount Pictures. Currently, you can watch Quaid in Companion, which is now available to rent or purchase on all VOD platforms from Warner Bros.
