Jacob Elordi Plays an Australian War Hero in Prime Video Series ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’

As a passionate admirer, I must share that it’s Justin Kurzel who brings us an exceptional limited series on Prime Video. This captivating tale is centered around Jacob Elordi, portraying the Australian war hero in The Narrow Road to the Deep North. Remarkably, this series is a brilliant adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s award-winning novel that clinched the Man Booker Prize.

In this drama, played by Elordi, Dorrigo Evans takes the main role. He’s a medical officer captured as a Japanese prisoner of war during wartime. His heart is tormented by an intense, unattainable love affair with Amy Mulvaney, portrayed by Odessa Young, who happens to be his uncle’s wife. The storyline, penned by Shaun Grant, depicts Elordi’s character as both a war hero and esteemed surgeon upon his return home. Over the course of ten years, this compelling series is filmed in New South Wales, Australia.

The movie debuted at the Berlin Film Festival and boasts performances from Ciarán Hinds, Olivia DeJonge, Heather Mitchell, Shô Kasamatsu, Thomas Weatherall, Simon Baker, and Elordi in its cast. This series is among the 30 Australian Original productions that Prime Video has commissioned since 2019. The first five episodes will be available for streaming on April 18 exclusively on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
