Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount and More Join Cast of ‘People We Meet on Vacation’ Adaptation

As a devoted fan of heartwarming romantic stories, I can hardly contain my excitement over the latest casting news for Emily Henry’s adaptation! The addition of Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount, and Lukas Gage to the already stellar cast of “People We Meet on Vacation” is just the cherry on top.

It’s been revealed who will join the cast for the forthcoming movie version of Emily Henry’s hit book.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount, and Lukas Gage will be part of the cast alongside Tom Blyth and Emily Bader in the movie adaptation of Henry’s “People We Meet on Vacation”.

Their roles in the film are to be announced.

As a gamer, I’m all hyped up about the latest news on this upcoming movie! Blyth and Bader, stars from my favorite shows My Lady Jane and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, are set to play the romantic leads. In this flick, Bader will embody Poppy while Blyth takes on Alex. Their story revolves around two best friends who used to spend a week every summer vacation together. But things took a turn when they went two whole years without talking. When Poppy reaches out and manages to convince Alex for one more getaway, she’s determined to mend their broken bond. However, there’s an elephant in the room that needs addressing: is their friendship just that or is there something deeper lurking beneath? I can’t wait to see how this unfolds!

Brett Haley will be in charge of directing, while Yulin Kuang is responsible for writing the script. The production will be handled by Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner from Temple Hill. Laura Quicksilver and Erin Siminoff from Temple Hill are supervising the project on behalf of 3000 Pictures.

Laviscount and Gage are set to take on new roles in the third season of “The White Lotus” and a remake of “Cruel Intentions” for Amazon, respectively. Laviscount previously appeared in the fourth season of “Emily in Paris” on Netflix, while Gage starred in the Prime Video adaptation of “Road House”. Jamil’s most recent projects include working on “She-Hulk”.

One of the novels from the Henry book universe, titled “People We Meet on Vacation,” is being adapted for screenplay. A total of four books are currently in development to become movies – “Beach Read”, “People We Meet on Vacation”, “Book Lovers”, and “Funny Story”. Additionally, her novel “Happy Place” will be transformed into a series for Netflix.

Under a collaboration, Sony Pictures grants Netflix the initial viewing rights to any movies they plan to produce for online streaming.

Hook is repped at Gersh and Luber Rocklin.
