Janhvi Kapoor reveals Sridevi was 'proud of her hair': 'During Dhadak when I cut my hair, my mom yelled...'

As a dedicated follower of Janhvi Kapoor‘s journey in Bollywood, I must say that her unwavering respect for her late mother Sridevi’s wishes is truly commendable. The actress has shown time and again that she values her roots deeply, and this incident with her hair is a testament to that. It’s clear that Janhvi is not just an actress, but a daughter who cherishes the memories she shared with her mother.

Janhvi Kapoor is eagerly anticipating the premiere of her upcoming movie titled Ulajh. Throughout her career in the film industry, Kapoor has consistently showcased her acting skills and risen to prominence due to her exceptional performances. To convincingly portray diverse characters, she has undergone sports training and adjusted her body weight. Interestingly, Janhvi has expressed that one aspect she would never change for a role or film is her hair, as it holds special significance because it was her late mother Sridevi’s favorite.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the actress from Bawaal shared an old memory. When she chopped her hair short during the filming of Dhadak, her mother strongly disapproved, expressing her dismay by saying, “How could you do this? Don’t ever alter your hair for any role.”

Apart from disclosing other details, the actress mentioned that her mom often rubbed oil into her hair and gave it gentle massages, which she was particularly proud of. Consequently, she admitted that she prefers to keep her long locks intact instead of getting a haircut.

Kapoor made it clear that she wouldn’t part with her hair, not even for an extraordinary, transformative chance. She elaborated that although she’s faced numerous physical hardships such as dislocating her shoulder, bleeding, and fracturing bones, she’s resolute about keeping her hair. In the production of Ulajh, there was a strong disagreement with director Sudhanshu over his insistence on her cutting her hair short.

During the TopMob Masterclass, the actress from Dhadak talked about how she’s not greatly affected by online bullying. She shared that getting affection and encouragement from people who attend events and engage with her makes her feel positive about herself. Furthermore, Kapoor highlighted that collaborating with talented artists and directors on movie sets gives her a strong sense of validation.

In a reference, she pointed out an instance where Nitesh Tiwari commended her act, stating it was sincere. Kapoor added that applause from experts like him carries more weight than the harsh words of unknown internet critics.
