As a die-hard He-Man and the Masters of the Universe fan since my childhood days, this news about Jared Leto playing Skeletor has me absolutely thrilled! I remember those Saturday mornings spent glued to the TV screen, watching the epic battle between good and evil unfold.
Jared Leto is set to play Skeletor in Amazon MGM’s live-action Masters of the Universe film.
According to Variety, director Travis Knight has also secured the roles of Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, and Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man – these are some of Skeletor’s minions. They will join the already confirmed cast members Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Camila Mendes as Teela, and Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms.
The specifics about the upcoming adaption are still a secret, however, it’s rumored that Skeletor and his minions might employ motion-capture technology for their computer-generated imagery (CGI).
Chris Butler penned the script while Escape Artists and Mattel Films are producing.
The live-action Masters of the Universe film is set to release on June 5, 2026.
