Fans of DC Comics always have plenty of material featuring a mysterious caped figure from Gotham City, such as two upcoming Batman films: “The Batman: Part II” and “The Brave and the Bold“. However, I’d like to divert our attention away from those for now. Instead, let’s delve into an interesting tidbit: Jason Bateman is starring in a State Farm Insurance commercial with a Batman theme, and surprisingly, the Joker and other members of Batman’s villainous crew are depicted quite well in recent appearances.
Today, I didn’t expect to see a nearly two-minute State Farm ad featuring Batman villain designs alongside an Ozark actor dressed as a superhero on my bingo card. However, here we are. Before we proceed, check out the commercial below, where Jason Bateman plays Bate-Man, a superhero you wouldn’t want around when trouble is brewing in Gotham City.
It’s clear that these depictions of classic DC characters like Joker, Two-Face, Riddler, Catwoman (performed by SZA), and Poison Ivy are intended to promote State Farm through Jake from State Farm. However, it’s worth noting that these interpretations are quite impressive, particularly those of Joker and Two-Face. With a bit of refinement, they could effectively represent how these characters might appear within the DC Universe franchise.

It’s worth noting that the actor playing Batman shares a striking resemblance to Will Arnett, who previously lent his voice to Batman in various LEGO films. This coincidence becomes even funnier given that Arnett, along with Bateman and Sean Hayes, hosts the Smartness podcast. In this new series, Batman advises Bate-Man to host a podcast rather than fight crime. However, it’s important to mention that the man inside the Batsuit doesn’t appear to be Arnett, so if the voice is indeed that of the actor from Netflix’s Bojack Horseman, this could be a case of dubbing.
In summary, we’ve discovered two things today: Firstly, it’s not wise to rely on Batman for help against criminals. Secondly, it seems Jake from State Farm is permitted to ride in the Batmobile with Batman, which has led me to speculate that Bruce Wayne might be insuring his high-end vehicle through State Farm, given the extensive damage the Batmobile often sustains and the potential costs of repairs. Even a billionaire like him would be unwise to cover those expenses directly.
That concludes the latest escapade of Batman. If you’re eagerly anticipating his next cinematic appearance, mark your calendars for October 1, 2027 when The Batman: Part II hits theaters. As for The Brave and the Bold, a release date has yet to be announced. However, fans can look forward to Clayface’s standalone DC movie on September 11, 2026. Previous Batman films and series are available for streaming with a Max subscription.
