Jason Mewes Unveils Epic New Tattoo Paying Tribute to Iconic Jay and Silent Bob Moment!

Over numerous decades filled with mischief, pranks, and all sorts of playful behavior, Jay and Silent Bob have consistently been quite unruly. Yet, despite the 2025 movie lineup bringing back the original charm of “Dogma,” the mature adults Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith are now keeping a clear mind. Nevertheless, they haven’t lost their rebellious spirit, as evident in Mewes’ recent tattoo dedicated to “Clerks II.

As we countdown to the 20th anniversary of that iconic 2006 sequel next year, it’s only fitting that one of our beloved View Askewniverse stars gets a well-deserved tribute. Check out the image below – it appears Jason Mewes has channeled some divine creativity into his unique artwork on his own skin!

In terms of aesthetic and character depiction, these twin sculptures featuring Jay and Silent Bob resembling quasi-religious figures call to mind both the movie “Dogma” and the brief run of “Clerks: The Animated Series.” Notably, the portrayal seems heavily inspired by Jay’s humorous reference to Buffalo Bill’s dance from “The Silence of the Lambs” in the song “Goodbye Horses.

As the tunes are already echoing in my mind, and let’s face it, that moment in the Clerks trilogy is a real riot, I thought we might as well revisit that hilarious scene before we move on.

Indeed, you’re correct in spotting it. The full punchline, revealing Jay’s tuck, isn’t visible in that video. Frankly, I’m not astonished since YouTube might flag such content as violating their guidelines, especially when it’s anything related to explicit scenes outside of the movie “Clerks II“. This likely explains why Jason Mewes’ social media post features a carefully placed star covering his character’s private areas.

The most impressive aspect of Mr. Mewes’ new tattoo is that it reflects perfectly the kind of artwork a fan of ‘Clerks’ might create. This makes his appreciation for being involved in Kevin Smith’s New Jersey comedies even more heartfelt.

Instead of appearing like a playful tribute akin to Steve-O’s back tattoo of himself, this feels more like a friend and artist honoring an iconic role. Given Jay Mewes’ well-known enthusiasm for Call of Duty, I find it intriguing that he doesn’t have any tattoos referencing his passion in that area. However, isn’t that the essence of getting another tattoo – expressing personal interests and experiences?
