Jason Momoa’s Epic Mosh Pit Move Steals the Spotlight at Ozzy’s Farewell Show!

In 2025, few predicted that the star of Aquaman would not only attend Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert but would also jump over the barricade to dance with the U.K. audience during his “Back to the Beginning” extravaganza at Birmingham’s Villa Park. While Ozzy Osbourne and reality TV star made a grand finale on stage, the whole show was eclipsed by an energetic Jason Momoa, who managed to elude his security team as he dived into the mosh pit to headbang with the enthusiastic crowd.

At the concert, Osbourne played alongside his band, and acts like Guns & Roses, Metallica, and Pantera were also part of the show. It was during Pantera’s performance of “Cowboys From Hell” that Momoa was seen on camera exiting the VIP area near the stage, running across the football field grass, and jumping over the barriers to join the audience for a dance.

The scene caught on camera resembled a human vortex, with Momoa and circles of enthusiastic fans swirling in a dance craze indicative of his metalhead nature. This was not surprising given his past attendance at other metal concerts. Interestingly, it was during his efforts to secure tickets for the concert that he was approached to host the event itself, as mentioned in an interview with music magazine Kerrang!.

Originally, I was reaching out to my friends, including Scott Ian and Kirk Hammett, trying to get tickets for an event. Then, Ross Halfin, a well-known photographer who’s worked with numerous bands, contacted me. He mentioned that Sharon wanted me to host the event! I was taken aback because I had been trying to secure a ticket myself, and now they wanted me to host it! This is uncharted territory for me as I’ve never hosted anything before. The fact that it’s on pay-per-view makes it even more nerve-wracking. But at the same time, it’s an incredible metal concert, arguably the best in history. Needless to say, I’ll be pretty anxious, but also incredibly excited!

During the whole-day event, centered on Black Sabbath’s final live performance and aimed at supporting Cure Parkinson’s and local children charities, performances from Metallica, Slayer, and Alice In Chains had already occurred when Pantera stepped up. Later in the day, a 76-year-old Osbourne appeared on a Gothic “bat throne,” but it was enthusiastic Momoa’s moments that grabbed social media’s focus, ensuring that Osbourne’s goodbye was the main topic trending on X, Facebook, and YouTube.

Jason Momoa Will Soon Rock the DCU as Lobo

Although Jason Momoa gained widespread fame portraying Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, he truly showcases his talent by stepping into the villainous character of Lobo in the TV series, Supergirl.

Although he starred in the most successful standalone DC film in the previous series, there are numerous fans who feel that Momoa was meant to embody Lobo in comic books. Given his muscular build, long locks, and rough voice, it’s challenging not to agree that his upcoming portrayal is a role many have eagerly anticipated for years.

James Gunn and Peter Safran are creating an entirely fresh DC universe, one that focuses less on origin stories spanning several years and more on bringing comic book characters to life. This universe will feature numerous interconnected heroes existing within it from the outset. The preference of fans for this new universe will become apparent next week when Superman takes flight in cinemas, carrying the burden of a ten-year plan and the future of the entire DCU on his Kryptonian shoulders. Supergirl is set to follow in the summer months.
