The much-awaited film “Jee Le Zaraa” has been eagerly anticipated since its announcement back in 2021. This road trip movie, featuring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif, initially faced delays with the shooting process. However, a significant update regarding the movie was recently shared by producer Zoya Akhtar, who revealed the reasons behind the project’s delay.

During an interview with The Indian Express, Zoya Akhtar explained that the delay in the release of Jee Le Zaraa was due to coordinating schedules for the main actresses, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif, as well as director Farhan Akhtar. In simpler terms, she mentioned that it was necessary to find dates when all four could work together on the project.

In the same discussion, screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar expressed his high regard for Alia Bhatt. He lauded her recent acting performances, specifically mentioning Gangubai Kathiawadi. The writer declared, “Alia, today, might very well be, or at least belongs to the group of, the finest actors.” He further mentioned that he believes she is the best but opted for diplomacy in his response so as not to upset other actresses.

At the unveiling, Priyanka Chopra posted a photo featuring Alia and Katrina. On Instagram, she penned an emotional message and divulged the origins of their upcoming film collaboration.

In February 2020, Katrina, Alia, and I gathered excitedly right before the world went into lockdown to decide whom we could rely on to materialize our shared vision. Our decision was unanimous – Farhan and Ritesh, as well as Zoya and Reema. Given that we had previously collaborated with Excel Movies and Tiger Baby Films separately, this arrangement seemed ideal. Interestingly enough, Farhan was simultaneously working on a female road trip film! What a coincidence, or perhaps it’s the universe aligning the stars for us!

Previously, it was confirmed by Farhan Akhtar himself in June 2024, exclusively to TopMob, that he will indeed direct the film titled ‘Jee Le Zaraa’.
