Despite being deeply involved in filming Season 2 of “Wednesday” for Netflix in 2025, Jenna Ortega, who’s been quite busy lately, is eagerly anticipating her role in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” Tim Burton’s sequel takes off 36 years after the original film, with the Deetz family returning to Winter River to grieve a loved one’s passing. Unlike Winona Ryder who played the melancholic teenager in 1988, Jenna Ortega, age 21, will portray her daughter, Astrid. As expected, a chain of events leads to the return of Michael Keaton’s character, Beetlejuice, causing chaos to ensue.
In the role of Astrid, Ortega appears to have found a character perfectly suited for her, following her impressive debut in Season 1 of Wednesday. Her performance received praise from both viewers and critics alike, and even inspired a wave of cosplayers to reimagine Wednesday as the daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams in a fresh way.
