Despite the uncertainty about the release date for Season 2 of Netflix’s series Wednesday, we can confirm that a host of well-known actors are joining the cast for its second season, including none other than Lady Gaga. With her past roles in shows like American Horror Story, movies such as Machete Kills and Joker: Folie à Deux, and a potential role in The Addams Family spinoff, it’s clear that this opportunity fits her perfectly. According to the show’s lead star, Jenna Ortega, Gaga is one of the most “talented” individuals she has ever collaborated with on set.
At SXSW, Ortega attended the premiere of her latest film titled “Death of a Unicorn“. IndieWire had an opportunity to talk with her about Lady Gaga’s role in the upcoming season 2 of “Wednesday“, which as of now, remains undisclosed. Ortega chose not to reveal any details regarding that topic. However, she did share some insights about working alongside the versatile celebrity. In her words, “She’s simply amazing, absolutely one of the most gifted people I’ve ever collaborated with.
Being there with her and Tim [Burton], two individuals whom I admire greatly, was an exceptionally unique atmosphere. It was surprising yet delightful to discover she’s so kind-hearted and modest. There’s something intriguing about her unpredictability, but one thing remains consistent – kindness and generosity.
It’s hardly unexpected, given that Gaga is widely known for her kindness, not just by her fans, but also by numerous celebrities she has collaborated with in the past. On the set of the Joker sequel, Joaquin Phoenix described her as “very supportive,” while Bradley Cooper, who worked with her on the Oscar-winning film A Star is Born, previously praised her as a “discovery” and someone who “brightened up the whole room when she entered.” Ortega’s recent description of her as a “sweetheart” further solidifies this reputation, and can only boost her career in the film industry.
What Other Stars Will Appear in ‘Wednesday’ Season 2?
As a movie enthusiast, let me share my excitement for the upcoming Season 2 of Wednesday. Even if Lady Gaga’s captivating presence doesn’t quite hook you yet, the star-studded cast is more than enough to entice any viewer. Keep your eyes peeled for some familiar faces gracing our screens, including Steve Buscemi from Boardwalk Empire, Billie Piper of Doctor Who, Evie Templeton from Return to Silent Hill, Owen Painter of The Handmaid’s Tale, and Noah Taylor, known for his work on Law & Order: Organized Crime. Additionally, you can expect cameos from Christopher Lloyd, best remembered as Uncle Fester in The Addams Family, Joanna Lumley, the fabulous Edina Monsoon of Absolutely Fabulous, Thandiwe Newton from Westworld, Frances O’Connor from The Missing, and Haley Joel Osment, the boy who saw dead people in The Sixth Sense. This diverse lineup promises an entertaining ride for all!
Of course, Season 2 of “Wednesday” is shaping up to surpass Season 1 in every imaginable aspect, and for those craving a deeper dive into the show’s horror elements, rest assured that there will indeed be more suspense than romance ahead. Keeping our fingers crossed for an official release date announcement soon, in the meantime, why not catch up on Season 1 streaming on Netflix?
