I shared my feelings about how deeply this place is etched in my memories.
Let me share a memory from my childhood: My best friend lived just around the corner, and in their backyard stood a gong. Many kids in the neighborhood would play outside all day, and at the end of the day, someone would strike that gong to call us home. It wasn’t some distant place; it was the very street we ran on during our 5K races, the same one where the little fire truck – a salute to our brave firefighters – appeared during the 4th of July parade. This was a neighborhood, a place filled with memories and camaraderie.

Similarly, Jason Momoa has highlighted the bravery demonstrated by ordinary citizens.
Although Jennifer Garner, formerly of the Palisades, no longer resides there, she experienced immense loss due to the fires. Not only did she lose her cherished neighborhood where she created precious memories with her family, but she also lost a dear friend who was unable to evacuate as the fire advanced. The tragedy is still fresh and painful, yet it served to underscore the catastrophic extent of the destruction. In her own words:
I recently lost a dear friend, and this loss has been particularly hard for our church community, making it difficult for me to discuss her at the moment. However, it is true that I have lost a friend whose time ran out too soon.
It’s evident from tales such as this one that Garner, along with numerous others, are deeply mourning the irreparable loss they’ve suffered. Rebuilding their shattered community is likely to be a lengthy process.
Although the house where the Alias star once resided is still standing, having relocated herself, she expressed that her heart aches for her friends and family who have endured losses. This compassion has motivated her to offer assistance whenever possible, joining charity events and leveraging her influence to attract nationwide attention. She stated:
I am deeply saddened by the situation of my friends. If I were to compile a list, it would contain around 100 names; these are people who have lost their homes. As I walk through my own home, I feel an overwhelming sense of guilt. I find myself asking what I can do, how I can assist, what resources or help I can provide with the things that I possess – my hands, this house, and the safety it provides.
Jennifer Garner has consistently supported disaster relief initiatives and has shown her commitment by taking action. By lending her time to organizations such as Midnight Mission, where she volunteered during Thanksgiving, and by collaborating with Save the Children, she’s been instrumental in assisting families who have suffered immense losses in rebuilding their lives.
