In preparation for hosting and performing at the 2025 American Music Awards, Jennifer Lopez disclosed that she sustained a facial wound while practicing.
On Instagram, the star posted a picture of herself applying ice to her eye, captioned ‘Here’s what transpired.’ She later explained, ‘This occurred during AMAs rehearsals.’ Following this, she shared another image without the ice pack, which showed a cut on her nose bridge and signs of a black eye.
Later on, she posted a snapshot showing her with the physician who aided in healing her wounds from last week. Captioned with: “A week has passed, and a lot of ice packs – I’m as good as new!
On Monday, May 26th, Lopez will be hosting the awards ceremony for a second occasion, having initially assumed this role back in 2015. During this time, Lopez has graced the AMAs stage over ten times. Lopez is a three-time AMA award winner and is uniquely recognized as the only female artist to have a No. 1 album and No. 1 movie simultaneously.
Lopez’s 2025 AMAs appearance is hinted at as a show where she will exhibit her unprecedented creativity and unique blend of music, dance, and stunning visual effects.
In 2009, while appearing on “The Ellen Show”, Jennifer Lopez recounted her fall during the American Music Awards that year. She sustained an injury, specifically a bruise to one of her bones.
She mentioned that one dancer’s back was slick with sweat, lights, and general movement. When I accidentally stepped on them, my shoes became damp. Consequently, upon landing, I lost my footing due to the slippery surface.
The annual fan-decided award ceremony is set to be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Memorial Day, specifically May 26th. You can catch it on CBS Television Network, or if you’re in the U.S., stream it on Paramount+. Notable nominees this year include Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey.
