As a dedicated fan who’s been following this gripping drama since its inception, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and excitement as we approach the premiere of Season 2 of Tracker. The inclusion of Justin Hartley’s charismatic Colter Shaw and his enigmatic siblings, Dory and Russell, has been nothing short of captivating.
As the story of Tracker progressed through Season 1 and we delved deeper into Justin Hartley’s character Colter Shaw and his history, we were introduced to his siblings – Dory and Russell. Instantly, we craved more about them. With Season 2 set to air in the 2024 TV lineup, we know Jensen Ackles will reprise his role as Russell, but what about Melissa Roxburgh returning as Dory? Fortunately, Hartley has shared some insights on that matter.
In anticipation for the October 13 premiere of Tracker’s Season 2, Justin Hartley shared some intriguing details about the upcoming episodes during an interview with TV Insider. He confirmed that Jensen Ackles will return as Russell and hinted at lingering questions Colter has regarding his siblings, particularly what Dory is concealing. Regarding Dr. Dory Shaw, Hartley expressed anticipation for Manning Roxburgh to reprise her role as his on-screen sister in future episodes of Tracker’s second season.
Her performance concludes [finishes] much earlier than expected, allowing us to invite her again for later episodes within our series. Furthermore, Jennifer Morrison is set to return in Episode 6, where she will take on the director’s role. Given this, it seems likely that her character will make a reappearance as well.
As per IMDb listings by Roxburgh, she is currently preparing a series titled “The Haunting Part“, set for release in 2025. It is said that this show will consist of 10 episodes, while another production, Tracker , will feature 22. Given these details, it’s quite logical to anticipate that she’ll have more available time later during the season to rejoin the CBS drama.
How To Watch Tracker Season 2
I’m super excited to share that I’ll be catching brand new episodes of ‘Tracker’ every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, starting October 13, right here on CBS! And if I miss it, no worries, I can stream them the next day with a Paramount+ subscription. Can’t wait to join you all in this exciting gaming world!
Although Ackles will return and Hartley shared some fascinating insights on his comeback, such as his heroic role in Episode 2, it remains uncertain how Dory fits into Season 2’s narrative. Anticipating her reappearance may prove challenging, but I’m glad her on-screen brother has confirmed she’ll be back, allowing us to speculate about the means of her return rather than merely questioning whether she will return at all, making the anticipation much more engaging.
When Melissa Roxburgh came aboard Tracker, she shared with TopMob that deciding to portray Dory was an obvious choice for her. She elaborated by saying that she’s close friends with Justin Hartley and hails from Vancouver, where the show is filmed, which made her incredibly excited to become part of the series.
Beyond this, Roxburgh shared with us that she was thrilled about Jensen Ackles appearing on the show. She even mentioned they had worked together on Supernatural in the past. Although she didn’t explicitly confirm her own return, she did express a strong desire to rejoin the cast. Consequently, it wouldn’t be shocking if she were to make an appearance again.
It seems from Justin Hartley’s recent announcement that there’s no need for concern regarding that issue whatsoever.
Not only did the actor confirm his return, but he also disclosed that Jennifer Morrison, his co-star from “This Is Us,” is set to make a comeback as well in Episode 6, where she’ll direct. This potential return of her character Lizzy could be exciting, especially if it leads to a shared scene with co-stars Roxburgh and Ackles. However, given their busy schedules, such an encounter might remain a wishful thinking for the time being.
It appears that all popular characters from “Tracker,” such as Melissa Roxburgh, are set to return for Season 2. The main point of discussion now is the release date for this new season. We’ll make sure to update you as soon as we have more information on that topic.
