Jesse Eisenberg, known for his role as Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network,” is expressing his views on various tech moguls entering politics now that Donald Trump is once again President.
I tuned into the recent episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, and there he was – a renowned actor-director who’s been nominated for an Oscar. Bill posed some thought-provoking questions to him about a current topic, piquing my interest as a gamer.
In ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ from 2016, you portrayed Lex Luthor. It’s intriguing because I noticed you sitting next to Zuckerberg at the inauguration, and it seems like you’re quite close to the source of power. Your character in the movie was a tech-savvy Lex Luthor, and given that you also played Mark Zuckerberg famously in ‘The Social Network’, what are your thoughts on the rise of these tech moguls?”
This version maintains the original’s meaning while using simpler language and sentence structures to make it easier for readers to understand.
Eisenberg commented, “From my viewpoint, if one possesses immense wealth and influence, why wouldn’t they spend their time making a positive impact on the world instead? It’s challenging for me to grasp the particular actions they’re taking.
You know, I married a woman who’s an incredible activist, always focused on assisting those most in need. It leaves me puzzled when I see powerful individuals engrossed in matters that seem strange to me, or causing harm to vulnerable populations who are already struggling. I find myself questioning, ‘Why aren’t they dedicating their time to helping people instead?'” The star and director emphasized this point.
As a gaming enthusiast, I find myself reflecting on the evolving stance of tech moguls like Zuckerberg and Musk. In recent times, they’ve shown support for conservative administrations, notably endorsing Donald Trump for a second term – a decision that ultimately proved successful. Previously, these tech bros were known advocates for progressive causes.
This week, Zuckerberg joined a group of prominent tech leaders who attended Trump’s inauguration, which included the likes of Musk, Jeff Bezos, Sundar Pichai, Tim Cook, and Shou Zi Chew.
On the recent broadcast of Real Time, we had Stephen A Smith and Congressman Ro Khanna as our special guests.
