Jigra actor Vedang Raina wasn't ‘starstruck’ on meeting Hrithik Roshan for the first time despite being his fan: 'It's weird, I have...'

As a long-time admirer of Bollywood stardom, I must confess that my heart skipped a beat when I found myself sharing the limelight with none other than the dashing Hrithik Roshan! It’s surreal to think that the very same man who once graced the silver screen as Krrish and Rohit in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, is now a colleague on set.

At present, Vedang Raina is eagerly anticipating the premiere of his forthcoming film titled Jigra. This movie marks a collaboration between Vedang and Alia Bhatt in a high-octane prison-break action thriller. Previously, Vedang has openly admired Alia Bhatt, and more recently, he has expressed being a devoted fan of Hrithik Roshan. Interestingly, when Vedang met Hrithik for the first time, he didn’t feel ‘starstruck,’ which he found to be an unusual experience.

In a talk with Mansworld India, Vedang Raina revealed that his debut modeling job was an ad alongside Hrithik Roshan. Talking about their encounter, the actor expressed, “It’s odd, despite being a die-hard fan of his since my childhood, I didn’t feel starstruck when we met on set.

As a devoted admirer, I’d confess that ever since I was a kid, I’ve made it a point to catch every one of Hrithik’s films in the cinema. Among them, Krrish held a special place in my heart during my childhood years. Interestingly, it wasn’t until I grew older (having been born in 2000) that I finally got around to watching Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai – a movie I had missed initially due to its release before my time.

Discussing his character in Vasan Bala’s film titled Jigra, actor Vedang takes on the role of Ankur Anand. From the trailer, it appears that his story involves being jailed in a foreign land. Actress Alia Bhatt portrays Satya, his sister, who is determined to learn necessary skills and go to extremes to free him from prison.

Beyond acting, Vedang has also contributed his singing talents to the remake of the legendary song Phoolon Ka Taaro in a movie. On Instagram, he expressed his emotions about this experience by saying, “I can see my younger self dreaming of this.” He further mentioned, “It’s hard to accept that I got the chance to sing a version of one of the most famous songs in Hindi cinema for a @dharmamovies production.

The movie titled “Jigra” is penned by Debashish Irengbam and Vasan Bala. This production is a collaborative effort between Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions, and Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is being produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, Alia Bhatt, and Shaheen Bhatt. It’s scheduled to premiere in cinemas on October 11, 2024.
