Jimmy Kimmel Still Waiting for a Surprise Guest: Guess Who Hasn’t Shown Up Yet?

Jimmy Kimmel persists in inviting big-name celebrities onto his late-night talk show as per the 2025 TV lineup. In the near future, viewers can anticipate seeing stars like Chris Pratt (promoting his Netflix film “The Electric State”) and first-time Oscars host Conan O’Brien, along with others. Given the numerous memorable guests who’ve graced “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, it seems strange to think about who hasn’t been on the show since its debut in 2023. Intriguingly, Kimmel recently mentioned one major star he’d still be thrilled to have as a guest on his program.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Jimmy Kimmel’s self-titled program has been graced by some truly exceptional personalities, such as Robert Downey Jr., Rihanna, and even former U.S. President Barack Obama. There have also been plenty of laugh-out-loud moments featuring big-name actors, like the time Ben Affleck managed to sneak in Matt Damon, who has a longstanding feud with Kimmel. However, one celebrity who hasn’t appeared on his talk show yet, as revealed during an interview with People at The Power of Love Gala, is the Pop Queen herself.

While I wouldn’t use the word “desperate,” it’s true that we haven’t had Madonna as a guest on our show yet, and I’d certainly be thrilled if she were to appear.

It’s surprising that Madonna hasn’t made a guest appearance before now, given her extensive history on talk shows. For instance, who could forget her explosive David Letterman interview in 1994 where she uttered 14 f-bombs? Or the times she made Jimmy Fallon uncomfortable during her visits to The Tonight Show, like when she crawled across his desk to demonstrate that “artists are here to disturb the peace” in 2021. Madonna’s rebellious and playful side has always kept us intrigued whenever she graces a talk show stage.

Although Jimmy Kimmel hasn’t had the chance to hang out with Madonna, his talk show co-host, Guillermo Rodriguez, has. In fact, Kimmel shared an instance where Rodriguez interacted with the actress during her Mexico City concert last year when she invited him onstage.

She had Guillermo on stage with her. Not me. Nothing for me.

Oh dear, Jimmy Kimmel seems to be approaching retirement soon, with speculation about him not renewing his contract past 2026. Here’s hoping 2025 brings an opportunity for the pop star to grace his show before he calls it quits. After all, time is ticking!

This month, Madonna announced on Instagram that she’s working on a follow-up album to her “Confessions on a Dance Floor.” If this new music gets promoted, it would make sense for her to appear on Live!, and the prospect of watching the quick-witted host engage with the pop star and employ his well-known humor is amusing. It’s also funny to imagine the Grammy winner putting him in an awkward spot, as she has done with Jimmy Fallon before.

I’d be thrilled if Madonna were to make an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! someday. Here’s to crossing my fingers that everything falls into place for it to occur. Catch the talk show weekdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on ABC, or stream episodes with a Hulu subscription when they become available.
