As a long-time fan who has grown up with the magical tunes of NSYNC and the captivating world of Broadway, I am beyond thrilled about Joey Fatone‘s comeback to the Great White Way! With two decades under his belt since his last Broadway appearance, this seasoned performer is ready to grace the stage once more, and it couldn’t be more perfect.
Joey Fatone is set to be part of the cast for the show “& Juliet“, as confirmed by the producers on Tuesday. This marks a return to Broadway for the *NSYNC member, who last appeared there twenty years ago.
Fatone is set to assume the character of Lance in an award-nominated musical premiering on January 21, 2025. This performance will span over a period of nine weeks, concluding on March 16. Notably, Fatone, who was part of the founding members of NSYNC, often collaborates with songwriter and show producer Max Martin. He steps into the role previously held by Tony Award-winning actor Paulo Szot, who was also a part of the original Broadway cast.
I’m thrilled to announce that I will be part of the cast for & Juliet, as stated in a press release. I can hardly contain my excitement to perform Max Martin’s fantastic tunes – his music has significantly influenced pop culture. And yes, you heard it right, I’ll also be singing a few Backstreet Boys songs. Although my allegiance lies with NSYNC, they too have some great hits. Looking forward to seeing you at the performance!
In a fresh, contemporary twist on the classic Shakespeare play “Romeo and Juliet”, the story is reimagined, exploring what might transpire if Juliet were given another life and love opportunity instead of ending her days because of Romeo. This reinvention unfolds through a compilation of pop hits, with tracks such as “Larger Than Life”, “I Want It That Way”, “Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely” and “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” from the Backstreet Boys, along with “It’s Gonna Be Me” by NSYNC, forming part of the soundtrack.
Previously on Broadway in 2004, Fatone took the stage as Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors.” Earlier, in 2002, he had portrayed Mark in “Rent.
Starting from October 27th, the Broadway cast of & Juliet will be expanded to include Maya Boyd, Alison Luff, Drew Gehling, Liam Pearce, Michael Iván Carrier and Jeannette Bayardelle. Nathan Levy will join the cast on Nov. 19th. Gabe Amato, Daniel Assetta, Reese Britts, Nicholas Cooper, Charli D’Amelio, Jhailyn Paige Farcon, Makai Hernandez, Najah Hetsberger, Joomin Hwang, Khailah Johnson, Elsa Keefe, Alaina Ví Maderal, Daniel J. Maldonado, Alejandro MullerDahlberg, Ava Noble, Cassie Silva, Darien Van Rensalier and Romy Vuksan make up the rest of the cast for the show’s third year on Broadway.
