John Abraham reveals ‘strict’ Aditya Chopra doesn’t show films to anyone except Shah Rukh Khan: ‘Whatever information I would…’

As a die-hard fan of Bollywood, I must confess that my heart skipped a beat reading about John Abraham’s heartwarming experiences working with the legendary Shah Rukh Khan and the enigmatic Aditya Chopra on Pathaan. The behind-the-scenes insights have only deepened my admiration for these artists, making their craft not just a profession but an art form that transcends boundaries.

In a recent conversation, actor John Abraham discussed Aditya Chopra, the producer of Yash Raj Productions’ Pathaan, in which he worked alongside Shah Rukh Khan. John described Aditya as quite ‘demanding’, attributing this to the film’s impressive success. Moreover, he disclosed that Aditya would only screen his movies for Shah Rukh Khan and depended on him for updates about the project.

In 2023, the movie Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and featuring John Abraham as the villain, achieved the greatest box office success. Recently, during an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, SRK was questioned about the film’s historic triumph, which not only set new records but also marked his return to acting after a significant break.

In response, John remembered that he and the superstar had attended the premiere of the movie on its opening day. It was then that they both sensed the film would be successful, and they joyfully celebrated this realization together.

John went on to explain that “Aditya Chopra is quite particular about who sees his movies, only showing them to Shah Rukh Khan. Therefore, any information I received would come from SRK himself. Before the film’s release, I would call him and inquire, ‘What do you think?’ He would always respond positively and share his thoughts with me. He is incredibly kind-hearted, and our rapport was exceptional.”

The performer strolled back along nostalgic paths to the early stages of his professional journey. He disclosed that SRK served as his mentor during the filming of Pathaan, adding that there was immense admiration and affection between them. Furthermore, he complimented the celebrity by describing him as remarkably intelligent and wise. Abraham also mentioned that SRK is kind-hearted, adorable, and they formed a strong bond during their collaboration.

The movie titled Pathaan, released in 2023, was among the top-earning films of that year. Led by director Siddharth Anand, the film boasted an impressive cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and several others in significant roles. Furthermore, a special appearance was made by Salman Khan as well.

For those unfamiliar, Pathaan is the fourth movie set within the cherished YRF Spy-universe, which includes films starting with Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and War. After the premiere of Pathaan, Tiger 3 from this universe, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, hit screens in November 2023.

In the course of our chat, John confessed that studio executives have overlooked him for years, even after being in the industry. He revealed his ongoing struggle to persuade producers to invest in him and believe in his movie-making approach. The actor openly spoke about how, despite producing movies such as Vicky Donor, Batla House, and Madras Café, he still has to convince studio heads that this is a unique project and they should finance its production.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: “Up until now, they haven’t fully trusted my rates, and they’ve shared with me their concerns about the cost being too high.” The actor also made it clear that he doesn’t align himself with actors who demand exorbitant fees, exceeding a film’s budget. He emphasized that his charges do not impose a financial burden on any production.

Speaking as a lifestyle expert, let me share that on the professional side of things, I’m excitedly preparing for the launch of my upcoming movie, Vedaa. This captivating project is directed by the talented Nikkhil Advani and boasts an impressive cast including Sharvari, Tamannaah Bhatia, Abhishek Banerjee, and more distinguished actors in pivotal roles.

On August 15, the intense action movie is set to hit theaters, competing against Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein.
