John Abraham says he makes films according to his ‘aukaat’; reveals producers don’t respond to messages: ‘Till today, they don’t have faith in me’

Although he is responsible for hit movies such as Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, and Batla House, John Abraham shares that up until now, he continues to persuade studio executives that this film is unique and deserves funding. To date, they have not shown complete confidence in him, and they frequently inform him that the budget is excessive.

In a departure from the group of performers known for charging fees exceeding a film’s budget at times, Pathaan actor, John, openly admits that his fees never burden any production. Instead, he follows a business model where remuneration is tied to the movie’s earnings. “My status, my standard, determines the films I make,” said John confidently. “I am extremely proud of the content I produce.”

In the same chat, John shared that he doesn’t use WhatsApp and often finds himself not receiving responses when he sends text messages. He mentioned an instance where a studio head had said they’d get back to him after 4.5 months, but still hasn’t replied. Abraham expressed, “I don’t hold any grudges, but I do feel I should get a response. I think if people give me a chance, I’d like to make some changes in Indian cinema.”

Regarding his professional life, John Abraham is preparing for the upcoming premiere of his film titled Vedaa. This project features Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, and Tamannaah Bhatia in significant roles. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the movie will hit cinemas on August 15 this year. In addition to discussing Vedaa, John Abraham also shared details about his upcoming films Tehran and Diplomat during a recent interview.
