John Leguizamo Reveals Nolan’s ‘Indie’ Twist on Epic ‘The Odyssey’!

As a fervent admirer, I’d like to share my thoughts on John Leguizamo‘s recent revelation about Christopher Nolan’s unconventional approach to his grandiose swords-and-sandals epic, “The Odyssey”. During a captivating interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe show, the talented actor, who’s now part of the illustrious cast, offered insights into working with Nolan. He likened the director’s methods to those of an independent filmmaker, yet he was quick to point out that the contrast lies in Nolan’s access to immense financial resources to translate his vision onto the silver screen.

Despite having a substantial budget, he manages his projects as if they were independent films, acting more like an individual indie filmmaker rather than adhering to studio guidelines.

In the upcoming movie titled “The Odyssey“, which is a modern take on Homer’s ancient Greek poem, both John Leguizamo and Matt Damon (playing Odysseus) will be joined by an impressive cast that includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Elliot Page, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Benny Safdie, Himesh Patel, Samantha Morton, Bill Irwin, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal. This month also welcomes the addition of two more talented actors: Cosmo Jarvis, who gained fame in “Shōgun”, and another individual who promises to stir up chaos in this grand epic.

Previously, Universal Pictures announced that the upcoming movie is a grand action tale set against a global backdrop, filmed using state-of-the-art IMAX technology for an unprecedented screen debut. This film adaptation of Homer’s seminal story will be the first to grace IMAX screens. Filming is currently taking place in Morocco, and later, cameras will move to Sicily’s Favignana Island, also known as “goat island,” and the Eolian islands. The UK is also on the itinerary, with no signs of director Nolan skimping on elaborate sets to transform these locations into fitting landscapes for the film.
