John Ortiz Joins Bob Odenkirk in ‘Nobody 2’ (Exclusive)

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for action-packed thrillers, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming sequel to Nobody, titled Nobody 2. With John Ortiz joining the cast and Bob Odenkirk reprising his role as the mild-mannered family man turned secret government assassin, this movie is shaping up to be an adrenaline-fueled spectacle.

John Ortiz, who is currently starring in Apple TV’s humorous crime drama titled “Bad Monkey,” has signed up for a role in the upcoming film “Nobody 2,” which is a sequel to the 2021 unexpected success produced by 87North.

In the new production, Bob Odenkirk will once again play the character he portrayed before – a seemingly ordinary family man with an extraordinary past as a covert government assassin. Additionally, we see Connie Nielsen, Sharon Stone, Christopher Lloyd, and Colin Hanks on the call sheet.

Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, who’s famous for his horror and action films like “May the Devil Take You” and segments of the “V/H/S” series, is presently working on a movie being filmed in Winnipeg.

Details about the plot are securely stored away in a basement safe. The screenplay was penned by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Bob Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem.

Universal plans to release Nobody 2 in theaters on Aug. 15, 2025.

Actor Bryan Odenkirk, along with Kelly McCormick, David Leitch (through their production company 87North based at Universal), Marc Provissiero from Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, and Braden Aftergood of Eighty Two Films, are all working together to produce this action-packed thriller.

Lastly, Ortiz appeared on the large screen in ‘The Poolman’ starring Chris Pine, and most recently, he acted alongside Jeffrey Wright in the Academy Award-winning film ‘American Fiction’.

Ortiz is repped by Gersh, Principal Entertainment LA and Schreck Rose.
