Approximately two years after the release of the last John Wick film, it has been confirmed that the spinoff featuring Caine (played by Donnie Yen) will delve into events following the post-credits scene. The hotel is managed by a woman named Akira, who is the daughter of its proprietor. Sadly, during the skirmish that ensues at the Osaka Continental Hotel, Caine ends up killing her father.

In the film John Wick: Chapter 4, following John Wick’s departure from Osaka, Akira is absent until the post-credits scene. In this scene, Caine, having secured his freedom from the High Table, can be seen among a crowd with flowers, anticipating a reunion with his daughter. However, instead of the anticipated reunion, Akira emerges, seeking retribution for her father’s death. As she approaches Caine, Akira draws a knife, but the scene ends abruptly before she reaches him.

Now that we know Sawayama has been chosen for the Caine spinoff, the movie can delve deeper into their shared assassin storyline. Given that Caine will be the central figure in the spinoff, it’s unlikely he’ll meet his end at this juncture. Instead, it seems more plausible that Akira may choose to spare his life, although the reasons behind her decision remain a mystery for now.
