John Wick Star Keanu Reeves Is Hiding in Prime Videos Secret Level Trailer

As a long-time fan of Keanu Reeves and video games, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming animated anthology series, Secret Level. The fact that Keanu will be reprising his on-screen presence in an Armored Core-based episode has me jumping for joy!

A sneak peek at Tim Miller’s upcoming animated anthology series titled “Secret Level,” showcased during this year’s Gamescom, has sparked excitement among fans for its stunning visuals and action sequences. However, it appears that some viewers might have overlooked the appearance of a highly recognized Hollywood star amidst the footage. Intriguingly, a character who strongly resembles Keanu Reeves, renowned for his roles in “The Matrix” and “Constantine,” seems to make an appearance. This suggests that the talented actor, known as John Wick in another film, might be part of the “Armored Core”-inspired episode.

A video game featuring colossal robots called mecha, named Armored Core, was produced by FromSoftware and distributed by Sony Computer Entertainment on the PlayStation console. The initial installment of this game was launched as far back as 1997, and it’s set in a post-apocalyptic environment where mankind has been driven underground due to a catastrophic event that remains shrouded in mystery.

The specific storyline of the “Secret Level” episode for the game “Armored Core” hasn’t been fully revealed, but it seems to be a great fit for a sci-fi action tale, especially if it features Keanu Reeves as the narrator. It’s worth noting that this wouldn’t be his first venture into the gaming world; the renowned “John Wick” actor has previously portrayed Johnny Silverhand in the critically acclaimed RPG game “Cyberpunk 2077” from CD Projekt.

Secret Level Will Feature Episodes Based on a Whole Host of Video Game Favorites

The animated series titled “Secret Level” originates from the same team that brought us the popular Netflix animated anthology series “Love, Death + Robots”. Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio are producing this project, with Tim Miller as the creator and executive producer, while Dave Wilson serves as executive producer and supervising director. For more details, you can read the recently unveiled synopsis of “Secret Level” below.

“As a passionate advocate for gaming, I’m thrilled to introduce SECRET LEVEL – an innovative adult-animated anthology series. Created by the geniuses behind LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS, it delves into the universes of our cherished video games. Each of the 15 episodes is a tribute to gaming and gamers alike. The stories are inspired by iconic titles such as Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, PAC-MAN, numerous PlayStation Studios games, Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer 40,000.”

Speaking of Keanu Reeves, this renowned action star has numerous projects lined up beyond the virtual realm of Secret Level. He’s set to reprise his role as John Wick in the upcoming spinoff Ballerina (and potentially John Wick 5), and will appear in Jonah Hill’s black comedy Outcome, the comedy Good Fortune from Aziz Ansari, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, where he’ll voice Shadow. To top it all off, fans of this awe-inspiring actor can look forward to him leading both live-action and animated adaptations of his Boom! Studios comic book, BRZRKR.

The Secret Level will make its premiere on Amazon Prime Video on December 10th. Here’s a sneak peek: Take a look at the trailer right here.
