As a long-time fan of Saturday Night Live (SNL), I can’t help but be excited about the 50th season and the impressive performances we’ve been seeing. Chloe Fineman, with her comedic timing and spot-on celebrity impressions, has truly stood out among the cast. Her JoJo Siwa impersonation is a highlight for me, and it seems even the pop star herself appreciates it!
For the 2024 TV season, the team behind Saturday Night Live has been striving to bring laughter as they celebrate the show’s historic 50th year. Chloe Fineman is among the talented cast members who have been putting in extra effort, particularly with her celebrity impersonations. One of her standout performances is her portrayal of pop star JoJo Siwa, which she recently showcased during a recent episode. Now, even Siwa has offered a suggestion for Fineman’s impersonation, and I think it could be worth considering.
Previously, Jojo Siwa shared her thoughts on the impression of her that appeared on SNL when Chloe Fineman portrayed her during an episode in Season 49. In this depiction, Fineman donned a black-sequined outfit resembling the actual attire worn by the “Karma” singer. Siwa appreciated the performance and called it “iconic” on social media. When speaking to People about Fineman’s latest performance, Siwa had further compliments but also expressed one concern regarding physicality.
It seems to me that she could put a bit more energy into her dancing, though overall it was spot on.
In the most recent episode a few weeks back, Chloe Fineman took on the role of JoJo Siwa, with Charli XCX hosting and performing. During this show, they pre-recorded a sketch that spoofed auditions for the movie adaptation of “Wicked,” based on the Broadway play. In this segment, Fineman and others such as Sarah Sherman, Bowen Yang, and even Charli herself made fun of figures like Bernie Sanders, Troye Sivan, and Adele. Besides Siwa, Fineman also played Martha Stewart, Sydney Sweeney, and Leslie Mann in the episode.
The actress from Megalopolis has been part of NBC’s enduring sketch comedy series for close to six years and during this period, she has been carving out a niche for herself. Her knack for comedy and mimicking famous personalities has caught the attention of many, and it appears her abilities are continually growing stronger. As a seasoned performer, she offered some guidance to the newcomers in Season 50, encouraging them to enjoy themselves because they’re essentially being tossed into the deep end. That’s wise counsel indeed.
Currently, it’s unclear if Chloe Fineman will perform as JoJo Siwa again before the significant season concludes. If she decides to wear another sparkling costume, I would eagerly anticipate her following the pop star’s guidance. Such a performance might lead to some hilarious outcomes.
For the 50th season of Saturday Night Live, the hosts and musicians have been exceptional. The show is coming back with Paul Mescal as host and Shaboozey as musical guest on December 7 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. You can also catch past episodes by subscribing to an active Peacock account.
