As a longtime fan who has grown up with the tunes of Bon Jovi blasting from car radios and boomboxes, I am absolutely thrilled about Stephen Colbert’s latest Montclair Film Festival tribute conversation. The chance to witness the in-depth discussion between Colbert and Jon Bon Jovi is an opportunity I wouldn’t want to miss for the world!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Colbert has arranged for Jon Bon Jovi to be his special guest during their talk at this year’s Montclair Film Festival tribute event.
On October 26th, this coming Saturday, the host of The Late Show will have a detailed conversation with Jon Bon Jovi, the lead singer of Bon Jovi, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey. They’ll be discussing Jon’s extensive career as a New Jersey rocker.
This iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band has managed to sell over 130 million albums worldwide and captivated an audience of more than 40 million fans in over 50 different countries. Currently, they are the focus of the Hulu docuseries Thank You, Goodnight, which employs historical footage, songs, and performances to trace their journey from local New Jersey clubs to global mega-stages.
We’re excited to announce that Jon Bon Jovi is joining us at the Montclair Film Festival for what should be an unforgettable discussion!” said Tom Hall, co-head of Montclair Film. As an artist who personifies compassion and community spirit, Jon’s work aligns perfectly with our values here at Montclair Film. We can’t wait to spend a fantastic evening with him!
On Wednesday, I’ll have the chance to grab tickets for an upcoming event, as a member of Montclair Film and NJPAC. And if you’re not a member yet, don’t worry! Tickets will be available to the general public on Friday. The proceeds from this special evening will support Montclair Film, a local arts organization I’ve been associated with for quite some time now. They run the Montclair Film Festival, so attending this event directly contributes to their mission.
Beyond hosting the festival, Montclair Film manages and runs its own art house cinema, The Clairidge, in Montclair, while offering year-round film education, storytelling, and community initiatives across New Jersey.
Previous guests on Colbert’s Montclair tribute discussions have been John Oliver, J.J. Abrams, Steve Carell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Meryl Streep, and Martin Scorsese.
Evelyn McGee Colbert serves as the president of Montclair’s Board of Trustees, while her husband, Colbert, is on an advisory board that includes Abrams, Jonathan Alter, Jon Stewart, Richard Curtis, Abigail Disney, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Patrick Wilson, Laura Linney, Julie Taymor, and others.
The upcoming 13th Montclair Film Festival is all set for October 18-27, showcasing films such as “Conclave,” “Nightbitch,” “The Piano Lesson,” “Unstoppable,” and many others including the title “2073.
