As a long-time fan of Jon Hamm, I couldn’t be more excited about Apple TV+’s renewal of “Your Friends & Neighbors” for a second season! Ever since he stole our hearts as Don Draper on Mad Men, I’ve been eagerly waiting for him to take on another captivating role. And let me tell you, as a fellow resident of Westmont Village (in my dreams), I can only imagine the secrets and scandals lurking behind those affluent facades!
Apple TV+ has delayed the release of their drama series “Your Friends & Neighbors,” starring Jon Hamm, for a few more months. However, they’re already prepping for a second season of the show.
The streamer has announced that a second season of the drama is on its way, along with a release date and a sneak peek at the initial episodes. Starting from April 11, the first season of Your Friends & Neighbors, consisting of nine episodes, will be available for viewing.
As a gamer, I step into the shoes of Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a former hedge fund manager who’s just been let go in disgrace from my job and is dealing with the aftermath of a messy divorce. With my back against the wall, I find myself resorting to a desperate move – burglarizing the homes of my well-off neighbors in the exclusive Westmont Village. However, what I uncover behind those polished facades might be more perilous than I ever dared imagine.
“I’ve had this show in my head for years, and making it has been a dream come true,” creator and executive producer Jonathan Tropper (Warrior, Banshee, Apple’s See). “It’s been an absolute thrill partnering with Hamm, along with [fellow EPs] Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, to bring it to life. The support from everyone at Apple has been phenomenal, and the fact that they’ve ordered a second season before we aired our first is an incredible validation and a tribute to the work of this stellar cast, crew, writers, directors and producers who worked so hard to make this show what it is. We can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
In December 2023, Apple made a long-term commitment to produce “Your Friends & Neighbors,” which will be Hamm’s first leading role since the end of “Mad Men” in 2015. Despite not having a continuous lead role since then, Hamm has kept busy with roles on various projects including “The Morning Show” for Apple, an Emmy-nominated stint on FX’s anthology series “Fargo,” the newly launched “Landman” on Paramount+ and numerous others. The cast of this series also includes Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Marie Gravitt, and Donovan Colan.
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that Apple Studios, where Tropper has an all-encompassing agreement, is bringing to life the series titled “Your Friends & Neighbors.” Tropper, Hamm, Cavel, and Gillespie are the masterminds behind this production. In the initial two episodes, Gillespie takes the helm as director; Stephanie Laing, Greg Yaitanes, and Tropper also donned the director’s hat during season one.
