Jon Stewart will be one of the brightest stars lighting up New York’s Beacon Theatre on March 31.
The experienced all-rounder, known for his versatility, is set to reprise his role as the host of Night of Too Many Stars – a humor-filled concert and live auction event benefiting Next for Autism. Joining Stewart on stage will be an impressive lineup of artists such as Ronny Chieng, Alex Edelman, Susie Essman, Jim Gaffigan, Jeff Garlin, James Austin Johnson, Sam Morril, Please Don’t Destroy, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Amy Schumer, Sarah Sherman, Max Weinberg’s Jukebox and more yet to be announced.
Over two decades ago, Parents of children with autism founded Next for Autism, as they struggled to find suitable assistance for their families. Later, the event, “Night of Too Many Stars,” was initiated by Robert Smigel, a longtime writer and producer from Saturday Night Live and Conan O’Brien, along with his wife Michelle. This step came after they faced difficulties in securing education for their autistic son, Daniel. The funds raised during the “Night of Too Many Stars” will be utilized to strengthen programs aimed at employment, housing, and social well-being for adults with autism.
We launched Night of Too Many Stars alongside our comedy community peers, as many organizations primarily concentrated on finding a cure during that time. Witnessing countless parents grapple with locating suitable services and educational institutions for their children sparked our desire to establish an event aimed at bolstering the essential programs and services currently required by individuals with autism.
The team organizing this event is made up of individuals such as the Smigels, Dee, Tommy Hilfiger, Laura and Harry Slatkin, Mitch and Bellanca Smigel Rutter, Lucia Smigel, Jackie and Adam Sandler, and Tracey and Jon Stewart.
